Facilities at Hatton Court

Hatton Court is a reassuring size; not large and impersonal, nor too small. As a former splendid Cotswold home, the feeling is one of being eminently comfortable as opposed to grand.

Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with leather sofas, magazines and an open fireplace for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax, take tea, read and talk than to rush.

The care taken to prepare the food, combined with a smiling service, is complimented by the thought that has gone into creating the Tara restaurant. Fully refurbished in late 2009 the natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other's company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room.

The peace of the surrounding countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a goodnights sleep ready for another day exploring the Cotswolds. Just 3 miles from Gloucester, this is a perfect base to explore all the history and heritage that the City of Gloucester has to offer.

The Tara Restaurant

With large panoramic windows that take full advantage of the breathtaking views of the Severn Vale and the distant Malvern Hills, the spectacular location of the 1 AA Rosette Tara Restaurant is matched with genuinely warm hospitality, fine food and an extensive selection of wines.

In summer months you can enjoy alfresco dining on the terraces or just simply enjoy an aperitif and canapés, coffee and petit fours, or a glass of champagne as the sun slips behind the distant hills. During the winter, log fires roar in the reception and lounge, the perfect spot to indulge in a fine Vintage Port or aged Cognac.

The natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other's company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room.

The Tara Restaurant is open every day for hearty English Breakfasts, Morning Coffee and Cakes, Leisurely Lunches, gloriously indulgent Afternoon Teas and candlelit Dinners. Traditional delicious roasts served every Sunday Lunch. Non residents are particularly welcome.

Hatton 2 night stay

Anon, stayed: September 2017

A pleasant hotel for a short break. Unfortunately, the gardens were off limits for residents since there were big weddings both days. This was very disappointing, both the gazebo and large decking area looked inviting.

What a disappointment

PM, Kent, stayed: August 2017

The phone in our room did not work and as the champagne that was part of our deal was not there I had to personally go and chase it myself. The portions in the restaurant were so small it was difficult to see them and we had a long wait until we were asked for our breakfast choices next morning. Not an experience that we would like to repeat

70th Birthday Celebration

Diane, West Midlands, stayed: July 2017

Disappointed with the dark and dismal room. Fortunately the food and service in the restaurant made up for it. We would stay again if we could be assured of a better room.

Romantic weekend break

David P, Essex, stayed: July 2017

We had a lovely weekend here. The rooms were very nice and the jacuzzi bath was fun. Lots of bubbles. The only issue we had was the wedding. They finished the ceremony and invaded the bar and they looked at us as if we should not be there. The rest was great though. The food in the restaurant was lovely and breakfast was also very nice.

Not the quality expected

Geoff, Herts, stayed: July 2017

Our package included an executive room. Transpired that Hatton Court define this as a standard room plus mini bar. The room was much smaller than experienced on the same package in other hotels, only one easy chair and no table. Very little drawer space. The bathroom was extremely shabby with base metal showing through on all fittings, some rusty and bath heavily stained. The fridge stopped working on our second day. Staff however were very friendly and despite a large wedding on the Saturday, did not neglect their other guests.

Weekend Break

Paul, Staffordshire, stayed: June 2017

Excellent hotel, friendly and attentive staff, even with a large wedding party in the hotel over the weekend it didn't impact on our stay and was well separated from the other guests. We would definitely stay in the hotel again, stunning views from our bedroom over the Gloucestershire countryside and into the city of Gloucester with views of the cathedral.
