Thoroughly enjoyable weekend. Only fault was that one bedside light didn't work and was not repaired although reported. Food excellent but smaller quantities would have meant less weight gain.

A great couple of days in the bleak mid-winter

Thomas F, Warwickshire, stayed: January 2018

We had a couple of nights at the Beech Hill Hotel for my wife a pity she was born in January. Still, you never know for sure what the weather Gods will throw at you: this time it was mixed, one day cold and clear and the next wet, cold and could not see across Windermere. However, none of that really mattered, who cares what the weather is like in the Lake District because...... you are in the Lake District!

We really enjoyed our time at the Beech Hill Hotel. The Restaurant cuisine was excellent and the service ultra attentive and polite. Our room was very spacious, full size bed plus room for sofa and armchairs for a view over Windermere (if only the mist had lifted), and the bathroom was big enough to hold a dance in.

Absolutely no complaints at all. We will doubtless go again next year.

Winter break

Gary, Cheshire, stayed: January 2018

This was the 4th time we had stayed at the Beech Hill and yet again it didn't disappoint. The food in the restaurant is excellent , Great Lake views from the room and the friendly staff are brilliant.

Charming but not luxury

Anon, stayed: January 2018

Hotel room was at the bottom of the hotel, no lifts and a heck of a hike up and down stairs to main hotel. There is a car park nearby so we drove round and up to the main part for breakfast! The room, although beautiful view from the bedroom it needed a bit of tlc. All the wood furniture had cup marks and just looked tatty and the bath scratched and shoddy. I do have to say though the staff were marvellous and went out of their way to help change our booking when we couldn't make the original dates due to ill health. For similar money we have stayed at Storrs Hall and there is no comparison. Lastly, I think the jewel in crown which will be what we remember is the food. That can't be faulted.

Comfort in a lovely location.

Bob, Garstang, stayed: January 2018

Old fashioned, friendly warm ambience. Our room was OK with lovely views. The Spa was very attractive with a proper swimmable pool and the outdoor jacuzzi was clean and warm. The restaurant food was high quality and service very good, but the wine list was over complicated and over-priced, every bottle well over 20. The bar area, soon to be modernised, is welcoming and attractive, but there is a poor selection of keg only beer and the high prices seemed to be discouraging most people from drinking. We visited after a very busy period, but litter and used food cartons in the car park should have been spotted and cleared. Overall a very pleasant short stay.
