It is always good to go back to the Angel Hotel think it is our 6th we have been. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is a place to relax and enjoy the food. The location is good for the town and the abbey.

As always the service from Off Peak Luxury was excellent.

A very pleasant stay

LY, Derbyshire, stayed: November 2018

Staff were very helpful. Room comfortable although a bit warm. The single duvets could have been a bit larger so that they would stay in place better. Food was very good but do be aware that 10% service charge is added to all the prices afterwards. This was not mentioned on the menu. A special mention to the lovely man who parked the cars - he was a gem!

Two days in Bury

LM, london, stayed: June 2018

Arrived to a chilled bottle of champagne and lovely chocolates in the room. I had a lovely room on the ground floor with doors open to the courtyard.

Hotel very central for sight seeing and shops.

Impressed by the food. Was not drinking alcohol so had a jug of chilled water on the table, always served with a long piece of cucumber which gave it a very pleasant taste. Am now copying same at home during this hot spell!  The food was very good. The chef has talent.

I am going to say no to the question of staying again only because I am trying to see as much of Britain as possible and there are too many interesting places.

Minuses: The bathroom could do with a magnifying mirror for us older ladies who wish to apply makeup. The courtyard had too many weeds between the paving stones. (I pulled them all out!)

Annual Xmas stay

Lyn, Essex, stayed: December 2017

This is the second year that we have stayed at this lovely hotel for a pre-Xmas treat with friends. It is the perfect location for a good chill out, Xmas shipping in a very quaint and appealing town centre ending with a fabulous meal at the hotel. Would completely recommend this hotel for a weekend break and will certainly continue to be our Xmas tradition.

Good to be back again

Carolyn, Essex, stayed: November 2017

This is about the 6th time that my husband and I have stayed at the Angel and it was good to go back again. We received a warm welcome. The Hotel is in an ideal position for visiting the town and then coming back to and relaxing.
Thanks also to Offpeakluxury for arranging the weekend excellent service as usual.
