Facilities at Atholl Palace
Golf: Atholl Palace boasts Perthshire's smallest putting green, a 9-hole Pitch n Putt. The course is a short walk through the woods - obtain your score card, putters and golf balls at reception, then enjoy a friendly game or practice.
Walking: Atholl Palace has a variety of walks and jogging routes around the gardens and estate - you can request a map from reception.
Tennis: The hotel has four all-weather tennis courts, which are the setting for the annual 'Tennis Championships of the Highlands' - the second oldest tennis tournament in Scotland. Reception has a small number racquets and tennis balls for hire - a small deposit is required.
Games room: The hotel has a games room with Pool Table (cues and balls available to borrow) and PC's loaded with Minecraft, complete with Atholl Palace's own Minecraft game exclusively developed for the hotel.

History of the hotel
The hotel's unique and fascinating history began in the middle of the 19th Century when the popularity of Scotland as a holiday and health destination grew amongst Victorians.
In 2001, an extensive refurbishment of the hotel began.Over the course of a decade, hidden rooms and forgotten buildings were uncovered and restored, including the historic Victorian Spa and Turkish Baths on the lower ground floor. New and old gardens were carefully cultivated to award-winning standards.
In 2005 the Atholl Palace Museum opened, celebrating the rich history and architectural heritage of the hotel.

Lavender Spa
The Lavender Spa enjoys spectacular views of the Scottish countryside. The spa draws on its heritage as a Victorian health-hydro using the power of natural spring water which comes from the mountain of Ben- y -Vrackie, which towers over Pitlochry. These waters are used as a tonic and are unique to the Atholl Palace.
Swimming Pool & The Hydropathic Heritage.
The swimming pool and Lavender Spa are on the garden level of the hotel, with doors opening onto the fragrant oaks of the Black Spout woods, providing views of the Tummel Valley.
The Spa has been designed to complement the Victorian Gothic architecture of the original hydropathic spa. The water in the pools comes from its original source, filtered through the volcanic rock of Ben y Vrackie.
Please note the sauna is out of service indefinitely.
The Lavender Spa is open Tuesday to Saturday.
The pool is open:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 7am until 9pm.
Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday from 7am until 7pm.
There are no time restrictions for children however they will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Treatments are offered from Tuesdays to Saturdays but please be aware availability is very limited and guests need to book them directly with the spa by emailing: lavenderspa@athollpalace.com - Please email prior to arrival, and if essential to your stay please check availability prior to booking.
Last entry to the pool and gym is 1 hour before closing.
