Wonderful relaxing stay, exactly what we needed

Paul, Hampshire, stayed: November 2024

We came to stay at Billesley Manor Hotel for my wife's birthday. We spent the afternoon in Stratford, followed by a few drinks in the hotel bar, a nice swim and a massage for my wife. Very relaxing and a great hotel.

A Birthday treat for a special lady

Mark, Gloucestershire, stayed: November 2024

First impression as I drive through the entrance, amazing, lovely grounds and the hotel sits very nicely in the garden and surrounding area, tons of parking so no issues there, reception and checking in, the staff were very welcoming, very polite and very informative, we stayed in the deluxe room, spacious, airy, clean and window overlooking the gardens, the bed looked very inviting but here s the one negative point, the bed was very large, Queen size or so I thought but it was actually two large single beds pushed together, I felt there was a divide all night between myself and my partners.

Restaurant, amazing food, the food is very nice, the service was top class and the evening was perfect,

The space and gym, it s was ok, we got steamy in the steam room and we got hot in the sauna so it did what it said on the tin, pool was nice and the seating area was also good, staff were very friendly
overall it s a good place to relax

Would I recommend this hotel , yes 100%

I want to be back there now sat in the bar in the very relaxing atmosphere and sipping cocktails and relaxing in the lovely ambience created by this lovely hotel

5 star can't wait to go back.

BT, Cambridgeshire, stayed: November 2024

My husband booked this for my birthday. It was fabulous.
Can't wait to go again.
A little bit out the way in wintertime we did go into Stratford one night for dinner.
But restaurant was excellent and food delicious
Breakfast lovely and quite big portion do lovely poached eggs.
The adian waiter was so much fun and very experienced and the best.

Stunning!

Grant, Kent, stayed: October 2024

Stunning hotel & setting. Staff professional but exceptionally friendly/approachable.
Food out of this world. Couldn't fault it.
Dog friendly without this being intrusive.
Lovely room away from manor house. Only negative was quality of loo roll!
Thoroughly enjoyed the salt & oil exfoliation treatment in the spa. My skin has never felt so soft!
Sadly the swimming pool was rather chilly and could benefit from whirl pool/jacuzzi.
Will definitely look at returning but staying in the main house next time.

We had a very pleasant couple of nights stay. One comment:

The WCs are too low.

Disappointing customer service

Mandy R, stayed: September 2024

I booked a break which included a 70 voucher for dinner in the restaurant on the first evening. I booked our table for the first evening but my flight from Spain into the UK was delayed plus the rain was torrential that night with lots of flooding and terrible traffic so there was no way we were going to make our dinner reservation. I called the hotel to cancel since last sitting for dinner is 21.30. We eventually arrived at the hotel around 22.30, tired and bedraggled but very pleased to have got there. The receptionist who booked us in asked if we wanted to book a table in the restaurant for the following evening - which we did. He didn't mention that the offer I had booked was only for the dinner voucher on the first night and I couldn't transfer it over to the subsequent night even due to the exceptional circumstances of my delayed flight and the appalling weather. When I subsequently checked out I was, therefore, charged full price for the dinner on the second evening. I queried it with the hotel and they said it was not down to them since it is part of the offer from Country Hotel Breaks, low and behold Country Hotel Breaks said they would be happy to honour the voucher for the second night if the hotel agreed to it but they didn't - so conveniently one was able to blame the other and I, the customer, was left out of pocket. Extremely disappointed that both the break provider and the hotel used the excuse of the other one in order to not apply the discount to our dinner on the second night. I would not stay in the hotel or book via Country Hotel Breaks again for that reason since I did not think it was unreasonable to have requested they apply the voucher to our dinner on the second evening instead of the first. Any other opinions I may have formed about the hotel, our stay or Country Hotel Breaks have been marred by this experience.

We say...

Dear Mandy,

We are sorry that it was not possible to change the dinner allocation to the second evening instead.

We did approach the hotel to see if the dinner could be included on the second evening or if we could offer a partial refund. Unfortunately, we were informed by the hotel this would not be possible.

Refunds or amendments to the package inclusions do have to be agreed by the hotel.

Once again I'm sorry that we could not assist further.

Kind regards

Country Hotel Breaks

Lovely hotel, beautiful area

Val, Suffolk, stayed: September 2024

We really like this hotel and this was our fourth visit. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the rooms are really comfortable with excellent bathrooms. The restaurant is very good and the meal we had on our first night was outstanding.
