Billesley Manor Hotel 5 Stars *****

We stayed for 2 nights on a deal, emailed the hotel if they could put us a nice room as we were celebrating or Anniversary, we were provided with an amazing room with views over the garden, the staff, hotel, food and area was outstanding and we would definitely visit again and use offpeakluxury.com. Would return

Anon, stayed: June 2019

Firstly we we would return here but not on same package, just B&B next time.
Minor niggles, bill wrong a few times, at checkout on bill was the included wine 2 nights out of 3 but corrected when pointed out, but should not have happened in first place as most people staying were on deals.
Also incorrect Spa charges, again corrected on check out.
Yes 10% of food and drink prices added automatically to bills in restaurant for tip, which is about 9 per night for 2 persons, but can be removed at checkout if wanted.
Menu didn't change over 3 nights, hence B&B next time, Stratford Upon Avon just 10 minute drive away with many restaurants and better value. Although Management have advised me since that the menu will be varied in future to cater for guests staying more than one night, but who knows.
Sandwiches in bar poor value, would avoid.
Pool would be problem if more than 5 people swimming at same time.
Spa treatments, yes you can hear noise from outside rooms, talking, doors slamming etc as mentioned on tripadvisor.
One further word of warning, I would imagine that this hotel has plenty of functions/weddings probably most weekends, so bar areas etc can get very busy and noisy whilst they wait to go through to their separate areas.
Overall nice hotel, being re-furbished in places, grounds nice, plenty of parking, good size junior suite, but stairs could be a problem if you suffer from health problems.

Some good points.

FL, Oxfordshire, stayed: June 2019

Journey to my room was complicated, round corners, up stairs, along corridors etc. No lift. Bedroom was good with large, comfortable bed and nice view over the pleasant grounds. My room did not have a fridge but the adjoining room did.
Supper on first night (included in the deal) contained only 2 very small potatoes. Fish was well cooked on both nights.Cooked breakfast was tepid both mornings and coffee poor, tea weak (meal only one tea bag in pot).
Hotel is well located near Stratford and Warwick Castle.
Swimming pool was good. Tennis court had weeds in it.

Disappointing

Anon, stayed: June 2019

Such a shame this hotel can t decide what it wants to be. Staff were friendly and helpful, stunning drive into the grounds and, at first sight, the hotel looks every bit as luxurious as to warrant its listing on the off peak luxury site. We were shown to our superior room overlooking the grounds. Nothing wrong with the room at all, but furnishings slightly shabby. As the hotel did not seem busy, and because it was our anniversary, we decided to ask if there was an available room upgrade at all. We were delighted when told there was and that they would get it ready for us. Off we went to the bar to wait.

Table/bar service: table service only for food. Beautiful day to sit in the garden but had to go to bar each time we wanted a drink even when confirmed as hotel guests.
Dress codes: despite advice to the contrary there is none. Young men wearing vests and shorts being very loud in the garden, football fans wearing their football shirts in the restaurant.
Upgrade: turned out to be to a standard room recently refurbished. Skip next to the front door, Henry vacuum cleaner on the landing, room numbers on paper stuck outside doors, practically windowless room, something wrong with the plumbing so the smell was awful and added to the overwhelming smell of paint.

Saving grace: food was lovely, service good
Learning: don t accept an upgrade without checking it first!
