Not very good attention to detail

Anon, stayed: August 2019

We did not feel very well looked after. There were not enough staff to accommodate the number of people staying. There was no water in our room on arrival, the phone didn't work throughout the stay, the bathroom was not cleaned to a high standard, there was often a long wait at the bar if the bar was manned at all, food/drinks that were on the menu were not available, there were often dirty tables in both lounges that hadn't been cleared. The bed was very uncomfortable and the duvet very heavy and cumbersome.
Parking was easy and location was lovely, the grounds were beautiful and the house itself was gorgeous. The food was also good. The staff that were there were mostly very nice and polite. The spa treatments we had were reasonably priced and relaxing. We just didn't feel like the focus was the customer and the environment was not particularly warm. We did not feel well looked after.

Nice hotel, disappointing restaurant

JP, Hertfordshire, stayed: August 2019

We enjoyed our brief stay at the hotel, the room was nice and bed very comfortable. We didn t use the spa facilities.

Our meal in the restaurant was disappointing; very slow service and our main courses were lukewarm and the spinach accompaniment gritty. Not the high quality meal we were expecting.

Surprisingly good.

PA, Hampshire, stayed: August 2019

Warminster is not exactly a tourist hot spot and Bishopstrow House likewise. So we were pleasantly surprised to stay here. Food was very good, staff helpful, room was excellent and spacious. As a place to disappear for a while, it was perfect. We even got a glass of champagne which was a bonus for our anniversary stay.

Wonderful stay, amazing value for money

Alice, Oxfordshire, stayed: August 2019

My mum and I stayed for two nights in August and had a perfect getaway. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the spa was really good and the food was perfect. The room was very grand and impressive, particularly the enormous bathroom! Everything was clean and felt fresh. The value for money is really impressive as I expected it to be a bit run down or worn at parts but it was all beautiful, would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous location beautiful hotel

SPB, Bedfordshire, stayed: July 2019

It is a wonderful hotel with excellent amenities but the main issue is not enough staff for the calibre of hotel. For the type if hotel it is (luxury and spa) it is very understaffed which means the service is not quite up to what you'd expect for the price. The William Temple room which we stayed in is lovely but could do with a shower in addition to the bath. There is certainly enough room for it. Is a lovely huge room. Grounds of the hotel are lovely. Building is stunning.

Lovely and relaxing

Lynette M, East Sussex, stayed: July 2019

Overall we had a super stay. Our hot water pump failed and they offered us another room but we chose to stay as loved the room. We used another room to wash that was our decision. Food was really good although we was forgotten at breakfast which they apologised for.
Not sure if they had new staff but asked a few questions at dinner about the menu but they didn't know. Reception upon leaving was poor not very knowledgeable about the situation and a bit abrupt.
