Beautiful, relaxing stay cation

LC, Dorset, stayed: May 2025

We stayed at Careys Manor for one night to celebrate my husbands birthday. From start to finish, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble!
The Senspa was beautiful, we throughly enjoyed it and would definitely go again.

A pleasant stay in outskirts of lovely village. Hotel buildings lack an overall character and no views to the New Forest which is b close by. But spa enjoyable, breakfast v good and dinner tasty.

Lovely setting but has drawbacks

RM, Worcestershire, stayed: April 2025

Carrying bags up two flights of stair is not easy for pensioners. Room given had dull green paintwork and overlooked air con units from spa. House keeper kindly changed our rooms for a 1st floor with an outlook. Zen restaurant was OK but food (soup) was cooked with large pieces of lemon grass and galangal which was unedible and unpleasant.

Good but over priced.

Anon, stayed: March 2025

Staff communication was great, very accommodating to help us book our stay and amend the booking to our preferences. Warm welcome on arrival with good explanation to hotel facilities and spa. We enjoyed the hotel and what it had to offer with basic spa (eg pool, sunshine and steam room), however felt it was expensive for what was on offer. Needed to pay extra for the real spa experience which was advertised on website.
Great location to get out and enjoy the new forest. Walks and bike routes from hotel.

reasonable place but ...

SH, Surrey, stayed: February 2025

Hello, booking via an agent, lots of phone calls and restaurant booking was an awkward process i had to choose which one and time, but > The main problem is trying to view the menus, they are there on the internet site but so deep in the internet site, difficult to access. Welcoming was fine, but we had to request the bottle of prosecco in the room, the weak weak excuse was that the ice melts. The building is a rambling warren so moving around is like being lost in a maze. The Le Blaireau restaurant is superb, out of this world for me- my wife noted only 1 thing that she liked however. so viewing the menu is necessary. Spa is good - again a warren of rooms- up steps, down, bends, turns. not a problem if able but persns with limited mobility might struggle. The supplIed slipper were cheap cardboard, and the wraps adequate but... Overall a good stay, but only makes 1 star in our bok - sorry. the staf ARE friedly however. Might stay again - maybe!

A Relaxing and Gourmet Treat Indeed!

LM, Hertfordshire, stayed: February 2025

We booked the Luxury Lazy Break with 3 night stay and inclusive full breakfast. This was my 65th birthday treat. First impressions, we were a little apprehensive as the front view was not quite as the media image. However, once we were at reception, the experience changed. The staff throughout the stay, are informative, professional and very welcoming. Loved the free bottle of Prosecco first night - this set the mood nicely. Clean, tidy and comfortable room, well serviced by staff. The facilities in the Spa were excellent and we enjoyed our swim, jacuzzi and sauna every morning before breakfast. The Manor House was well placed to get to all walking areas and the New Forest is quite magical. The restaurants are gourmet standard and we enjoyed the French brasserie three nights in a row! A relaxing and gourmet treat indeed! Recommend!

Didn't meet expectations

Anon, stayed: January 2025

The manor house is an old hunting lodge which has been expanded at various times but the way they have done it appears haphazard. There are not grounds to speak of and most of the space around the exterior of the hotel was taken over to car parking. It is about a 10 minute walk into Brockenhurst. The rooms are comfortable and adequate but standard hotel rooms with a strange room numbering - rooms 30+ one side of corridor and 70+ on the other. The location of the spa, swimming pool, gym, etc is weird. Located on the first floor you go up and down stairs before entering the reception area with treatment rooms not necessarily in the spa area and again going up and down stairs until treatment room reached.
The only saving grace was the on site French restaurant.
There was confusion at check out regarding our bill even though we had clarified our package with staff when we checked in. The hotel system did not agree with the package that we had paid for. Our package included full breakfasts and a 70 allowance off the cost of dinner on one of the night's of our stay. Hotel added full breakfast costs to the invoice and did not take off the 70 allowance as they said meal the should have been taken on the first night and we had booked the French restaurant on the second night. Once we had shown staff on Reception the details of our package from Offpeakluxury they were happy to remove the two erroneously added items from our invoice.
