Charingworth, Chipping Campden, Glos, GL55 6NS
2 day trip
Well located hotel close to the start of the Cotswold way
Evening meal on day 1 was part of the package and was good value as local pubs were expensive.
Breakfast was good
Can see this hotel as a lovely wedding venue in the spring and summer
Would be good if the hotel had more info on walks
Beautiful location and great food.
We enjoyed our stay at Charingworth Manor. The position is glorious and we really enjoyed the food, the breakfasts were really good.
However, the bathroom could do with improving as there was only a shower over a bath and the overhead drench shower was barely more than a trickle, which meant having to hold the hand held attachment.
Unfortunately due to unavailability of a plumber, the two lounges were rather cool. The restaurant and bedrooms were warm however.
Having said that, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the building and gardens and locations are beautiful. No doubt the heating was rectified as soon as possible. We would return but would ask for a room with a updated bathroom.
Soothing atmosphere and personal service
Charingworth Manor exceeded our expectation. Dinner and cocktails were both amazing and the service excellent. Ian made us feel very welcome and helped with our anxious dog. I am a Coeliac and also lactose intolerant and Bartosz was excellent accommodating this and so friendly and yet very professional. Swimming pool was great. The atmosphere in Manor is soothing and we really enjoyed the whole experience. Would come again without a doubt.
Great Location for a Christmas Getaway
Charingworth Manor is a a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff were excellent, attentive, very welcoming, helpful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was probably the highlight. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had our own beautiful sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating and a lovely view over the Cotswolds. Christmas Day was glorious, so it was a pity the mist came down for much of the two following days!
Having not been away at Christmas before, it was nice to feel relaxed and at ease in the cosy/informal surroundings. The lounges had lovely log fires.
The food was excellent, with plenty of choice at breakfast and good menus for our main meals. The Christmas evening buffet was very extensive with lots of choice. Food was served hot (on hot plates!!).
All in al a very enjoyable stay.
Birthday Celebration Break
Hotel is in a great location and is very nice to arrive at. Staff on arrival were welcoming and friendly.
Room was OK but bed had a gap down the middle where it wasn't joined together and the TV didn't work due to signal issues. The bathroom was very tired and needed an upgrade. Nice touch to have a Happy Birthday card in the room. Restaurant and food was good but the chairs were impossible to sit easily on. Didn't use the pool but it looked very nice. Good breakfast in the morning. Overall a pleasant stay.
