Lovely stay
We are a couple who stayed overnight with our elderly parents and had a lovely stay. Our rooms had been recently refurbished and were very comfortable, service was great particularly in bar and restaurant. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment which is quite extensive but it didn't spoil our stay. The only thing on a Monday is that workmen were noisy so you can't have a lie in but that didn't bother us. Excellent service from off peak luxury and would book again
Excellent break
A wonderful three-days break, not only for the location and ambience of the hotel (despite some minor inconveniences due to ongoing renovation currently taking place), but also for the lovely attention and friendly hospitality of the staff, from the people at reception through to the ones in the kitchen and the restaurant, where the food and service were absolutely great.
Our Cotswold graceful short break.
Very enjoyable stay. The views from the dining room were beautiful & stunning. Restaurant staff very friendly and helpful.
Cotswolds Haven
We have stayed at The Manor for a number of years through change of ownership.
The hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation and upgrade which has both pluses and minuses.
The original needed plenty of work and it makes sense for the new owners to reposition the venue as a more upmarket destination.
The removal of the swimming pool makes commercial sense but is a shame despite the original having a distinct 70 s feel . The new room decor adds a more earthy feel to the original almost Elizabethan designs . It will appeal to a younger customer and is certainly modern in interpretation.
Service and restaurant food remain at a high standard .
Character Cotswolds hotel
This is a beautiful hotel in picturesque grounds with gorgeous character. Unfortunately two days before we were due to arrive we were told there were building works going on despite us having this booked for months. We were given advance notice that the swimming pool would be closed too which was disappointing as we’d already chosen the hotel. Check in was smooth and the hotel actually called me to let me know when we could check in which was very good of them.
The dog friendly rooms are a little outdated and worn, but have the potential to be great. They were fairly clean. The food was brilliant, and we could not fault this at all. However due to the building works we were dining in the conservatory which was also the make shift lounge so the vibe and atmosphere felt a little off and uncomfortable. The location of the hotel is at the heart of the Cotswolds. We would stay here again but only once the works are done so we could enjoy the full and proper experience. It’s disappointing only a few days notice was given with the building works as we had already taken the time off work, found a dog friendly hotel and made plans for the location of the hotel.
Fantastic staff and hotel
Had a lovely stay here despite the buildings work . The meal at night was great but best of all were the staff who were great . We did have a problem sleeping due to very noisy radiators (we assume ) but the hotel were very apologetic and sorted things. This will be a fantastic hotel when the buildings works are finished but definately still worth a stay just because of the staff and the rooms

Disappointed
Unfortunately although I had an email to say the swimming pool could be out of action there was a lot of building work going on for all our stay . We were told they were refurbishing and our room was already done. It was very dark, the only mirror was in the bathroom there was no instructions for coffee machine or TV and to be fair the receptionist was happy to come and sort those two problems out. The price of drinks were exceptionally high.
