Over the years various renovations and additions were made, including the planting of the grove of fir trees that gave the house the name Combe Grove.

Good Hotel stay

Anon, stayed: October 2017

The staff at this hotel were excellent they were welcoming and attentive throughout our stay.  The room was excellent in the main house, views are stunning. The pool was very good but the spa was disappointing and needs updating it had steel frames to lie on which were uncomfortable. The food in the evening was excellent and good value we were not charged any extra for the meal and wine was good although quite expensive. Breakfast wasn't as good as the kitchen had power problems and only bacon sandwiches or toast was available as hot food which was disappointing and no other alternatives were offered. It seemed strange they could cook bacon but not anything else.  Very relaxing stay and would go there again.

Coombe Grove Hotel

DF, Surrey, stayed: February 2017

The food was very good but the restaurant facilities were poor and at breakfast having to eat on small tables in the bar was certainly not 4 star. The location close to the park and ride into Bath proved very good and the view from the rooms was stunning. Unfortunately the parking facilities and the walk from the rooms to the restaurant were not so good especially in the rain.  A good value way to see Bath without the hassle and cost of staying in the centre of town.

Good base for Bath

Anon, stayed: February 2017

This hotel makes a great base from which to explore Bath and is situated within walking distance of Prior Park (NT) and the the Bath Skyline walk. I've stayed here twice on one night breaks - both times in the annex rooms which are very comfortable. The restaurant is particularly good with some very imaginative creations. My only gripe is that I was led to believe they don't allow children under 14 to stay and I booked my first stay there precisely because I wouldn't have to suffer other peoples' kids. On my second visit, a family with two toddlers were all too apparent and although they weren't permitted in the main restaurant in the evening, we could still hear them and they were permitted to disturb us for breakfast. It's a shame that they can't clearly state what their policy is and stick to it. Apart from this drawback, I have only good memories of Combe Grove and would recommend it highly.

Hotel a bit tired

Corry B, Berkshire, stayed: February 2017

We were a bit disappointed that the rooms were outside the hotel. It all looked a bit tired. We wanted to use the Spa and pool, but we did not feel like getting into our robes and slippers and walk outside.  It was quite a way away. The views were great and I am sure it looks much better in the summer time.  The restaurant could do with some update regarding the tables and chairs as again..... it looked tired. Also the Reception area looked as if it needed a bit of attention. It's not very welcoming.  We did have a lovely meal though, it was first class. The presentation was brilliant. Thank you for that.
