A REAL FIND !

Deborah G, Mid Glamorgan, stayed: May 2019

Spent 3 nights here in May, traveled with a friend. What a wonderful Hotel........
The food was exceptional, from breakfast, afternoon tea, to the 3 course dinners , all included in our deal. The restaurant was light & airy , an ideal place to enjoy the delicious food. The Bistro, equally good, great place to enjoy a drink in the bar and dinner.
Spa was amazing, the therapists were knowledgeable and friendly & treatments so relaxing.
We stayed in a room in the main building, lots of room and little extras like homemade biscuits, complimentary bottles of water in the fridge, Good sized bathroom, plenty of towels.  Gardens were a real joy ! The walled terrace was a real suntrap, borders full of flowers, a lawn and plenty of little places to sit.
Most of all it was the staff who made the difference. so friendly and didn't need to ask or remind them if something was part of the deal we had booked, free drink on arrival, free bottle of wine & free afternoon tea. They were fully aware.
I'd like to give a special mention to Stefan, who seemed to be there 24 hours a day ! A real treasure.

Relaxing break!

Anon, stayed: May 2019

The hotel is brilliantly situated with parking at the back of the property. I felt reception staff could have been more friendly. The bed configuration in one of our three rooms was wrong and staff were unapologetic. We should have received prosecco on arrival as part of package we didn t and had to ask for it with our evening meal. The fig restaurant was perfect and Stefan a great asset to the hotel we enjoyed evening meal and breakfast there. I would definitely stay again!

Lovely hotel in a gorgeous location

Kerry, Buckinghamshire, stayed: May 2019

On arrival we were welcomed by a lovely lady who apologised that our room wasn t ready (we were early), she was so helpful, took our luggage and directed us to the hotel car park behind (no hassle getting a space). Once in the room, it was fab, overlooking the high street (but not noisy), great air conditioning and huge bathroom. I couldn t fault it, and I m usually pretty fussy! The spa was ok and we had a swim but not sure I would come here just for a spa break by itself. We had an allowance for dinner in the adjoining brassiere and everything from the varied menu was tasty and very good. Breakfast is the beautiful main restaurant was wonderful, we loved it in a huge selection of items but more than enough for us. In all, a lovely hotel with really good attentive staff and excellent value for highly recommend it!!

Two night break in the Cotswolds

Jack R, Devon, stayed: April 2019

Cotswold House is one of those old fashioned hotels where they turn down your bed at 7pm when you are at dinner and in the morning you order your cooked breakfast from the waitress, rather than visit the self service breakfast bar. Both of which we appreciated.
The bedroom at the top of the hotel's beautiful curved staircase, was well appointed and looked out onto cottages and fields. Alas, nothing's perfect and we could not get any wi-fi connection in our room. However, we would recommend this hotel for a stay in the beautiful Cotswolds.

Beautiful place and hotel even if the food let it down

Laura B, Worcestershire, stayed: April 2019

Spa deal booked for one night stay with a 3 course meal and breakfast the next day. Spa was beautiful and very relaxing the room was quirky and clean, however if you like showers it may be worth checking this as most of the rooms have baths with shower attachments! Fine for me but my husband has spondylitis so can t really get in and out of baths very well. The food unfortunately was disappointing, firstly we were given a specials menu upon arrival and so myself and hubby grazed over what we fancied for the evening then when given the menu at dinner it had changed and shouldn t have been given that menu at all. Anyway we decided on calamari which was chewy and the asparagus soup this was like a pur e and was to thick to eat, it also came with a warm bread roll but no butter. We then both had the Barnsley chop which was over salted so wasn t that nice to eat it was also very gristly which you don t normally get with quality lamb! Breakfast was lovely but attention to detail is missed. Water jug at dinner was leaking but wasn t changed until it was all over our table. At breakfast my husband asked for no black pudding and we both ending up with none!
