Facilities at Hatton Court

Hatton Court is a reassuring size; not large and impersonal, nor too small. As a former splendid Cotswold home, the feeling is one of being eminently comfortable as opposed to grand.

Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with leather sofas, magazines and an open fireplace for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax, take tea, read and talk than to rush.

The care taken to prepare the food, combined with a smiling service, is complimented by the thought that has gone into creating the Tara restaurant. Fully refurbished in late 2009 the natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other's company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room.

The peace of the surrounding countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a good nights sleep ready for another day exploring the Cotswolds. Just 3 miles from Gloucester, this is a perfect base to explore all the history and heritage that the City of Gloucester has to offer.

Lovely stay

William J, Northants, stayed: May 2014

We booked two rooms in this hotel, the rooms are quite nice and the restaurant was excellent.
We had a good value stay with a bottle of Champagne thrown in.

disappointing

Anon, stayed: May 2014

We were very dissappointed as hatton court used to be a first class place to stay and eat but has gone downhill, the decor needs a facelift, we had an argument with the barman regarding our free bottle of bubbly and we had to send our meal back as the steak was so tougn, we would never go again!

Views on our rooms

TW, Battle, stayed: May 2014

We were disappointed to find we were not in the main building. Worse was to come when we had to walk up to the top floor , no lift in situ. We travelled with our friend who has severe arthritis , so climbing the stairs was horrendous for her. It wasn't a lot better for us as unfortunately age is taking its toll.

Nice but tiered

Anon, stayed: June 2014

The main building is lovely but sadly the bathroom we had in the ( new) block was very tired. The rest of the room was ok and the staff gave me a small discount when we left.

Beautiful hotel and location.

Nicki, Walsall, stayed: July 2014

We stayed for my partners birthday in a jacuzzi room with champagne on arrival. The room was gorgeous the double jacuzzi bath fab. We ate in the restaurant I have special dietary requirements and the staff were both helpful and knowledgable. The bar was expensive as with most hotels but we were served quickly. Gorgeous views from the terrace. Wonderful stay would definitely return.

LOVELY STAY

EJ, stayed: July 2014

My husband and I booked into this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
Our room was delightful, spacious and well furnished. We had a four poster bed which
was lovely. My husband is a smoker and was delighted that we had our own balcony area
where he could have a cigarette. We had a delightful evening meal in the restaurant.
Our waiter had a bit of an attitude in that he made us feel a bit inferior but everything else
was first class and we would definitely return to Hatton Court.
