Carrier's Restaurant

Hintlesham Hall's restaurant ranks independently in the top 10% in the country, offering wonderful menus and an award-winning wine list, all in a splendid setting.

Smart casual attire is requested when dining in our restaurant and we discourage jeans and trainers.

Many of the dishes include fresh herbs from the Hall's famous garden and utilise local produce where possible.

Hintlesham Hall and the highly regarded “Carrier’s" restaurant are drenched in rich history spanning across multiple decades and continents thanks to its original founder "Robert Carrier" who can only be compared to a modern-day celebrity chef.

Great cosy last minute stay

Catherine D, Lowestoft, stayed: September 2014

The whole stay was lovely and the staff all very welcoming. I wish I could remember the older chaps name who served us dinner and breakfast, he was very friendly and great customer service. We are looking forward to staying again soon.

Stunning setting

ST, stayed: September 2014

The staff were very courteous and helpful have stayed here twice and would go back again and again relaxation and service is outstanding. Only one negative point is that when you need a drink at the bar there is usually no one there so you have to go and ask reception for a member of staff.

Not to be missed

KR Suffolk, stayed: September 2014

We have visited Hintlesham Hall before and it is always risky going back in case it doesn't live up to expectations. However that is not the case with Hintlesham Hall. The staff are very welcoming and provide an excellent service.
The only down side was that the Spa and swimming pool are no longer there. However the hotel are still able to arrange treatments.

Trip down memory lane.......

TindaUK, stayed: August 2014

We stayed at this hotel 18 years ago for Christmas and have very fond memories of our stay, so we decided to book a last minute one night break and we are very pleased we did.
We stayed in a Superior Room which was comfortable, with two armchairs (the windows and sashes need painting) the room was clean.
We did not find the pillows comfortable, but pillows are a very personal choice for comfort
Our break included either afternoon tea or a bottle of champagne on arrival, we had afternoon tea and it was very nice.
Our deal also included dinner from the al a carte menu and this too was very good
Breakfast provided an excellent choice and was very good.
Based on the deal we had from offpeakluxury.com we were very happy with value for money
Although it was not a very nice day (weather) we did go for a walk around the gardens which again are nice, but need some attention and works were being carried out around the health club so it looked untidy with a skip.
I think this hotel could be improved by having a pool

Wonderful food

GL, Derby, stayed: August 2014

Only quibbles - no lift and our room was up 2 flights of stairs. A common problem in old houses of character but make sure you ask for an accessible room if you have any difficulties with mobility.

Great Food but not a lot else

Michael, Epping, stayed: August 2014

Hintlesham Hall is great place to go if you don't want to do anything, currently the Spa is closed so we had to arrange (with the help of the staff) for a masseuses to be brought in. Excellent Food and if there is good weather a good place relax.
