Fantastic Hotel

Very relaxing, comfortable and welcoming. From the moment you walk through the front door you feel relaxed and comfortable. The room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The 4 course dinner in the restaurant was amazing, everything was cooked and served to perfection. I can't praise this hotel enough, I will definitely stay here again

Relaxing break

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Very peaceful location. Staff very helpful and welcoming. The hotel has a lovely restaurant with a varied menu. Very nice rooms. We had a suite which we hadn t expected. Slightly old fashioned but that only adds to its charm. About 40 minutes drive from the Hay festival. Accommodation at Hay itself impossible to find during festival time so staying here meant we could go there. Enjoyed the spa. Very nice pool with plenty of space. Would definitely stay here again,

A wonderful hotel, in a scenic setting.

We had a lovely stay in this splendid hotel, beside a lake, with extensive, beautiful grounds, a river running through them. Excellent spa and spacious, luxurious accommodation, including an adjoining sunny lounge with great views (recommend paying a little extra for the lodge). Delicious gourmet cuisine and helpful, friendly staff, the only detraction being a too long wait to be given a menu for our order, and then table, the second evening, over half an hour after the time we'd booked for.

A very lovely hotel with excellent staff but the lodges are a little dated and not overly luxurious

This is a lovely hotel with excellent staff whom couldn t do enough for you - we did stay withour dog so booked the lodge and it was a lovely double room with a loung but had a slight smell when you entered the room after being left for the day - this did go once you opened the windows for fresh air in the room - the furnishings were very nice but the settee in our lodge was tired and the cushions were non-existent but the bed was super comfy - we didn t feel the need to complain regarding the room as the staff were so helpful in other ways and we wasn t in the room during the day. The food was lovely and dinner itself whilst not huge portions was full of lovely flavour s. There could be more items on the menu if you don t want to have a 4 course meal as and had to cobble some bits from the sort of lunch snacks but again it was very nice - just would have been nice to have been able to get something a little more substantial for dinner when you have been travelling all day! I would definitely return back here and stay in the hotel and hopefully a more updated/recently decorated room.

The perfect mini break

We enjoyed a very welcoming tranquil break here recently. The staff were excellent, offering the perfect balance of polite interaction whilst still leaving you to relax in the peaceful picturesque setting. We enjoyed a wonderful walk from the hotel of which there are many as well as a delicious meal on both evenings. We couldn't have wished for more.

Excellent country house hotel

This is a lovely and luxurious hotel set in beautiful countryside. The staff are very friendly, helpful and courteous and the dinner in the restaurant was outstandingly good. There are extensive grounds with delightful riverside and lake walks and the spa looked very inviting but we did not use it as we only stayed one night. We cannot wait to return and sample more of the facilities. Highly recommended.
