Lounges

Oak Room

To the right of Reception is the lovely Oak Room, which as its name denotes is panelled in fine oak and is made all the cosier by the addition of a log-burning fire.  Towards the rear, is the all-important licensed bar, just waiting for your order.

The Grand Lounge

A capacious room; having large windows affording a light and airy feel, and providing stunning views across the lawns to the river beyond. Although quite sizeable, little enclaves and cosy corners abound in this room, providing ample opportunity to sit with friends or family, to snuggle up with a good book; play board games or just simply to soak up the tranquil atmosphere.

Delightful objects d'art and paintings lovingly adorn the whole area, along with bowls of fresh fruit and displays of freshly cut flowers, culminating in a very cosy, homely ambience in which to totally switch off and relax.

Delectable light lunches from Chef's selection can be enjoyed here, and each afternoon, we'll tempt you with our mouth-watering selection of Welsh Teas with freshly created sandwiches, Welsh cakes; scones dripping with cream and homemade preserves, and slices of heavenly chocolate cake, but when the sun comes out, guests often prefer to enjoy their tea served outside on the patio, underneath the spreading chestnut tree!

The Orangery

Naturally flowing on from the Grand Lounge, French doors deliver you into our light and airy Orangery; a more recent addition to the old house where delicious selections of Welsh breakfasts are served each morning.

Short Break

DH, Devon, stayed: July 2019

Food was very good with plenty of variety. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented. Lovely big swimming pool and spa.
Well kept grounds with a riverside walk. Although a bit out of the way, there were places to see not too far away. There was even a railway station in the village and a bus service. All in all, a good place for a relaxing short break.

Marvellous experience

Brian J, Powys, stayed: July 2019

We had booked for three nights stay, without seeing the hotel first, to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we couldn't have done better. A truly personal welcome when we arrived to be conducted to our suite (we had expected only a nice room). A lovely location in acres of grounds where we wandered at leisure. The hotel itself and the furnishings therein is grand but we were treated like old friends right from the start. The food was as good as it gets, matching the whole ambience. We have never found a better place for a break in years of hotelling. As our ages now exclude the likelihood of going abroad we will be holidaying in the UK from now on and intend to make The Lake Country House top of our list!

Lovely

Jeanette, Dyfed, stayed: June 2019

We had a very enjoyable few days, if there was a tiny complaint it was that our room was above the outside seating area, and there was a rather loud gathering out there for a lot of the afternoon, it was only a problem because we had such glorious weather that day and had to have the windows wide open.. If we went back we might request a room at the back but otherwise no complaints, the grounds were lovely.

Our Stay

Nigel, Hampshire, stayed: May 2019

The hotel lived up to it's description in all aspects. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food of a high standard. The location was picturesque, if not a little bit out of the way. In all a great break and recommended
