Lounges

Oak Room

To the right of Reception is the lovely Oak Room, which as its name denotes is panelled in fine oak and is made all the cosier by the addition of a log-burning fire.  Towards the rear, is the all-important licensed bar, just waiting for your order.

The Grand Lounge

A capacious room; having large windows affording a light and airy feel, and providing stunning views across the lawns to the river beyond. Although quite sizeable, little enclaves and cosy corners abound in this room, providing ample opportunity to sit with friends or family, to snuggle up with a good book; play board games or just simply to soak up the tranquil atmosphere.

Delightful objects d'art and paintings lovingly adorn the whole area, along with bowls of fresh fruit and displays of freshly cut flowers, culminating in a very cosy, homely ambience in which to totally switch off and relax.

Delectable light lunches from Chef's selection can be enjoyed here, and each afternoon, we'll tempt you with our mouth-watering selection of Welsh Teas with freshly created sandwiches, Welsh cakes; scones dripping with cream and homemade preserves, and slices of heavenly chocolate cake, but when the sun comes out, guests often prefer to enjoy their tea served outside on the patio, underneath the spreading chestnut tree!

The Orangery

Naturally flowing on from the Grand Lounge, French doors deliver you into our light and airy Orangery; a more recent addition to the old house where delicious selections of Welsh breakfasts are served each morning.

A lovely place to relax and indulged yourself

Elina Swansea, stayed: February 2020

It was my birthday and treat arranged by my husband. It has beautiful surroundings and much to offer, as it has its own spar and pool, plus an excellent restaurant. The room we had was lovely comfortable and clean, with tea and coffee provided. fI you wanted to use the spa or pool also had robes for you to use. What was really nice the walks around the hotel, plus it was dog friendly if you like to take your pet away.We stayed for 2 nights and visited to local area which was beautiful..

Weekend break

CC, Somerset, stayed: February 2020

Arrived early to a very warm welcome by staff and the owner.
Receptionist very accommodating changing our room so we were closer to our friends who had booked separately from us.
The rooms were ready earlier so able to get settled very quickly and then off to the spa.
The grounds and hotel are beautiful and the rain stopped long enough for us to have a lovely walk.
Good food through out our stay.
Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Fantastic relaxing weekend

PH, Leicestershire, stayed: February 2020

Location is fantastic, even though it was a very wet and windy weekend there was still plenty of decent walks to do. The spa is excellent, we had a couple off treatments and the staff were brilliant. The room we had was great, loads of room the bathroom had a walk in shower and a full size bath. The lounge in the main house was very relaxing and a good place to have a snack and a drink. Breakfast was amazing in the orangery. Only criticism is that it would be nice to have a bit of background music in the main restaurant, it lacked atmosphere as it is a big room with a very high ceiling and you can here everything everyone says due to the echo you get in the room. Still a fantastic place to stay and we will be back

A birthday treat

Shela, Oxfordshire, stayed: February 2020

My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel to celebrate his birthday. The hotel had been recommended to us by friends who are regular visitors and we were not disappointed. We found all the staff to be friendly and competent. The hotel was really comfortable with plenty of spacious lounges, very important in February when the weather is not good. The room was very well-maintained and the reason for our 'good' rating was because the hot water took a long time to come through - 10 minutes!
We are planning a return visit in June.

Thoroughly recommended.

Lisa B, Devon, stayed: February 2020

A thoroughly relaxing break, all the staff were most friendly and welcoming, the spa being set in a lovely wooden building located down by the lake with pleasant woodland walks.
We were lucky enough to be upgraded in our room, which was large, comfortable and nicely decorated and the food in the restaurant was first class.
Will definitely look forward to coming back.

Lovely country house hotel with excellent food

Glynis, West Midlands, stayed: January 2020

I booked this stay on a great offer through Offpeakluxury, which came with dinner, bed and breakfast and choice of either champagne or afternoon tea. We chose the champagne!
The room- in the main part of the hotel was large, comfortable and well presented. Dinner was excellent, well presented, very tasty and good recommendations from the waiter. Breakfast also excellent, plenty of choice and served in a delightful light filled room. Definitely recommended.

Warm,friendly & welcoming

Paul T, West Midlands, stayed: January 2020

The general manager Luke and all the staff made us very welcome, they were warm and friendly. The log fires, the cosy ambiance, wonderful grounds and very comfortable rooms made our stay just fabulous. The pool and spa facilities were modern and meticulously clean.
Our room had a very large and comfortable bed with lovely views across the river.
Breakfast and evening dinner were an absolute joy. The food was expertly prepared and tasty. The service was second to none.
I would thoroughly recommend a stay in this great hotel.
