History of the hotel
Steeped in history, this Jacobean manor dates back to the early 1600s and is mentioned in the Domesday Book
Children are welcome and can be accommodated in selected bedrooms. Children under 8 years are not allowed in the Restaurant, they are welcome to dine in the lounge.
Children are charged at £25 per child per night to include breakfast. Rooms suitable for families are the Courtyard suites, these have sofa beds and can accommodate up to 2 children.
Your four-legged friend is more than welcome to stay with you in your room or suite (all rooms at the hotel are dog friendly) with extensive grounds, are the perfect place for well-behaved dogs to stretch their legs.
While they allow dogs in the public rooms on leads, providing other guests do not object, they kindly ask that they are not left unaccompanied in the bedroom unless caged. Please note that dogs are not permitted in the restaurant or the walled vegetable garden.
The charge is £15.00 per dog, per stay and includes a blanket and biscuits in room on arrival. All rooms are suitable for 1 dog, for more than 1 dog a larger room will be required.
The Gardens designed by Walter Sorel extend over several acres with streams, a sunken garden, a profusion of shrubs, a huge rustic dovecote and a recently restored walled vegetable garden. There are timeless walks from the gardens along Madam's walk, on the banks of the river Lew and to the woods and beyond.
The Rooms at Lewtrenchard Manor
With a selection of Classic Rooms to choose from with different styles and locations for all preferences. With four in the main house, Melton, Lyndhurst, Eudoxia and Siyahambah, and Bromley in the courtyard, two four poster beds and a selection of traditional and more modern styling available there is a Classic Room for all tastes. All the Classic rooms but Bromley, the ground floor disabled access room, have a view of the gardens ether the formal sunken garden or more informal parkland gardens. - Please note a particular room can be requested but NOT guaranteed.
Deluxe Kingsize room
The Manor's deluxe rooms, with king-sized beds, have a luxurious and welcoming atmosphere. Hornsea, Prince Rupert and Aurelia are spacious rooms in the main house with views of the surrounding estate, including the gardens, courtyard, hills and woodland. Contemporary bathrooms, each with a separate shower and large bath, add to the splendour of these historic rooms. While Seymour overlooking the courtyard has a light and airy feel and sports the largest bed in the hotel. Please note particular rooms can be requested but not guaranteed.
A short walk from the main house, the courtyard suites overlook the gardens and courtyard. Warrington is a beautifully spacious first floor suite with a large sleigh bed and elegant bathroom. On the ground floor of the North wing, St Clements is a large suite with a four-poster bed and relaxing lounge area. Please note particular rooms can be requested but not guaranteed.
The gallery suites, St Gertrude and Nonington, are truly exquisite and are reminiscent of manor life centuries ago with the benefit of 21st century amenities, including spacious and contemporary en suites. These decorative and luxurious suites offer panoramic views of the surrounding gardens and parkland. Please note particular rooms can be requested but not guaranteed.
