History of the hotel
The main part of the hotel was purpose built in 1870, but there is reference to a pub on site as early as 1795.

Children ages 2-15 sharing a room with 2 full paying adults will be charged a maximum of £25.00 per child per night. This rate includes breakfast. Two night stay
This is our second visit again a comfortable hotel with good food.However we found that some of the facilities in the spa not working disappointing as the spa is new .
Very Enjoyable
Our stay at Lodore Falls was quite simply wonderful. Every aspect of our short stay(2 nights) was enjoyable .We had no knowledge of the hotel before we arrive and were pleasantly surprised at what was on offer .We didn't use the Spa but were very impressed with what we saw of it.
The food was excellent (much better than the hotel we had just left in Scotland which boasted cuisine that didn't come anywhere near the Lodore hotel.) If we come to the lake district again next year this Hotel is definitely on my list. The guests seemed to be of the older generation, 50 plus,we did not see many families, though this was late April. A very relaxing environment.

Birthday weekend
Stayed in spa suite, which was absolutely beautiful and very luxurious. The Spa was equally as well appointed and would give 5 stars to the room and spa.
Unfortunately the service in the hotel was very poor and the majority of staff we encountered in the hotel were not interested in you - this was not the case with the staff in the Spa.
The food and dining experience was also mediocre.
Lodore Hotel
The Lake District is a magical place the hotels location and excellent standards magnify the experience.
Lovely rooms with Lake and Fell views are outstanding. Complimented with good food and service.
Highly recommended for a few days or a weeks holiday with easy access to the rest of the Lake District.

I chose this because we visited August 2018 and had a great stay. The food in the Restaurant was excellent.
Unfortunately we visted 16th February weekend, and the food was terrible, and I mean terrible.
Unfortunate, as I would not recommend this.
