Honeymoon: Spa and the views only thing worth staying for

MM, Wiltshire, stayed: September 2019

Stayed for a weekend for our honeymoon and we re very disappointed. If the weather hadn t been so nice it would have overall been a poor experience.

Room was average three star standard, furnishings were tatty and need updating. Walls are very thin! All the doors slam so you constantly get woken up by other people s doors, it was very noisy! Only good thing was the lake view.

Food service in main hotel restaurant was awful! Long waiting times. It took us two hours one evening from sitting down to getting our starter. You can t sit relax and eat, it s a stressful atmosphere with staff rushing around trying to make up tables. Ridiculous layout of service! Having to ask every time for a roll of bread, leave some on the table! Having to ask at breakfast for a spoonful of condiments, again leave it on the table! Poor menu choices with very strange food combinations which don t work together. Breakfast there was lots of eggshell in the scrambled egg. We had to wait 40 mins at breakfast to be offered any hot drinks. They need to establish a table service with staff allocated tables, it s chaotic and disorganised. We could hear the kitchen staff having an argument and shouting.

The Mizu restaurant was very nice, great service and food with a much nicer and more relaxed atmosphere.

Spa was amazing, only good thing about our stay. Spa staff are wonderful very helpful and attentive. We had a massage each which was great and would definitely recommend the rasul treatment.

I m sure the accommodation within the spa building would have been a completely different experience but completely unaffordable at 900 a night!

Recent break at Lodore Falls.

We had a lovely stay last weekend, We were in a lake view room ant the sun shone on the lake, which is lovely. we stayed at the hotel in January also this year and since last week we have booked our third visit for next January. It is not a cheap hotel but is warm and welcoming , nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We take our dog Pearl with us and it is so dog friendly, you can just relax. Food is always a good standard and is becoming home from home. Plenty mpre hotels in the Lakes but we keep going back to the same one.

Could be so much better!

SB, Shropshire, stayed: August 2019

With a revamp on staff training, with customer care being desperately needed, this hotel could propel itself to a much higher level. It has the potential, once older rooms decorated, to appeal to the luxury market. Sadly, I don t feel management will do this, and this hotel will continue to try to cater to all sectors but please only the few.

Very Enjoyable

PS, Devon, stayed: April 2019

Our stay at Lodore Falls was quite simply wonderful. Every aspect of our short stay(2 nights) was enjoyable .We had no knowledge of the hotel before we arrive and were pleasantly surprised at what was on offer .We didn't use the Spa but were very impressed with what we saw of it.
The food was excellent (much better than the hotel we had just left in Scotland which boasted cuisine that didn't come anywhere near the Lodore hotel.) If we come to the lake district again next year this Hotel is definitely on my list. The guests seemed to be of the older generation, 50 plus,we did not see many families, though this was late April. A very relaxing environment.

Birthday weekend

JM, stayed: April 2019

Stayed in spa suite, which was absolutely beautiful and very luxurious. The Spa was equally as well appointed and would give 5 stars to the room and spa.
Unfortunately the service in the hotel was very poor and the majority of staff we encountered in the hotel were not interested in you - this was not the case with the staff in the Spa.
The food and dining experience was also mediocre.

The Lake District is a magical place the hotels location and excellent standards magnify the experience.

Lovely rooms with Lake and Fell views are outstanding. Complimented with good food and service.

Highly recommended for a few days or a weeks holiday with easy access to the rest of the Lake District.
