  • The coastal road via Mevagissey is stunning though expect very narrow winding roads. The quickest route is via the main road

There are some bedrooms on the ground floor with a few steps to access. There are no fully accessible bedrooms.

There are no family rooms at the hotel but children can be accommodated in cots or on a Z-bed.

Children under 5 are free, children aged 5-12 are charged for food only.

Children aged 12-16 charged £30 per night for extra beds.

Dogs Policy

Dogs can be accommodated by prior request for a charge of £15 per dog per stay. This must be payable to the hotel on departure. There are 2 dog friendly rooms types, a Classic and a Deluxe.  They can use the rooms and terrace, but not the lounge or restaurant.

The two AA rosette restaurant overlooks the sea and harbour and serves classical cuisine with an emphasis on locally-sourced Cornish produce, particularly shellfish, lobster and crab.

How to get here

Portloe is on the south Cornish Coast, midway between St. Austell and Falmouth.

Travel by road via the M5 motorway and A30 or A38; turn off the A390 St. Austell to Truro road on to the B3287 road to Tregony. Then take the A3078 (St. Mawes road) and 2 miles further on fork left for Veryan and Portloe, turning left at the T-junction for Portloe. On arrival, you are assured of space in the private hotel car park.

Quiet Secluded Haven, Beautiful Location with Excellent Service

We stayed at The Lugger for two nights and really booked because the hotel looked to be in a picturesque location and because it was dog friendly .We both love walking the coastal paths and the dogs do too . The hotel was a revelation . Such a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and wonderful food . We can't wait to visit again.
