A rather special hotel

Lumley Castle Hotel, which in a previous life was a Medieval Castle, is different to any other hotel you are likely to visit. Grand decor and fittings throughout give the impression of going back in time to the Tudor or Elizabethan period. Rooms are very special with unique features. The public areas are well maintained. A team of freindly, helpful and professional staff look after your every need whether in the reception, restaurant or bar areas. Food excellent. A rather special hotel!

My birthday occasion spending an romantic overnight stay.

We upgraded our room before our stay from a courtyard room to a castle room after receiving an email to pay 10 extra, when we eventually found room(top floor) we were disappointed to find what seemed to be a single,very small,one chair to serve us both. We phoned reception and a very nice girl Kate arranged for a change of rooms for 30 including the original 10 pounds. We had a very nice evening,restaurant food, staff and ambiance superb. However we were told on leaving room upgrade was 40 pound, All in all a very pleasant stay and we will definetly be back again even though we only live about 6 or 7mile away!

Fabulous stay in a real castle!

Spent three nights here celebrating my wife s birthday. Lovely room with four poster bed and en-suite bathroom through the wardrobe! Staff were so friendly and welcoming and food was excellent - although evening menu a little limited and doesn t change daily so not so good for longer stays.
Would highly recommend for a romantic break with a difference.
