Dartmoor is an outdoor lover's paradise. There are stunning walks right from the front door, and as such the hotel is very popular with dog owners and welcomes their pets. This might be worth bearing in mind if you are particularly intolerant to dogs.

Disabled Access
The Avon room can accomodate some requirements. This spacious ground floor room benefits from its own private deck overlooking the River and garden, private parking space and large walk in shower/wet room. Situated in the Teign Wing adjacent to the main hotel this room is perfect for enjoying the peaceful scenery and direct access to the great outdoors. The Wing is a small annexe, accessible through the courtyard (less than 10m from the main hotel). There is ramp entry to Avon and is described as being mobility friendly rather than adapted for disabled use which does not detract at all from its stunning decor. We advise guests with disabilities to contact us for detailed information before booking
Child Policy
Enjoy a family stay on Dartmoor in the spacious rooms and suites. From exploring Dartmoor's historic landscape to spotting exotic animals at the zoo, there are plenty of things to do near Mill End for families.
Most of the superior rooms can have an extra bed and/or cot added as required.
For larger families, the Junior Suite Harbourne is luxurious and spacious and can comfortably sleep 5 guests. They have 1 standard king room suited to a family of 4 (Walkham) for a quick stopover, or the larger Wolf Suite for more guests. Please contact us to check family room availability.
Additional charges are applicable for children on a B&B basis and only children over 12 are welcome to dine in the Restaurant.
Dogs Policy
If you want a canine companion to join you at Mill End Hotel, you have a couple of options. Some of the ground floor twin rooms, including Swincombe and Erme, are the most popular for guests bringing along their dogs as they have easy access to the outdoor spaces.
Note that dogs are charged at £12 per night.
Dogs are not permitted in the main restaurant, however the hotel do have a Doggie Dining area that can be requested should you wish to dine with your Dog.
There's a side entrance to the hotel which leads straight into the boot room, where there is a large sink, plenty of dog towels and some treats for pups (and people). This is the ideal place to bring your dog after returning from a muddy or wet walk across the moors. Please use as many dog towels as you like and leave them on the floor when you're finished – they go in a separate laundry to your towels!
They are happy to provide dog owners with extra leads, bowls of water or detailed walking maps. If, on the odd occasion, you want to go out for longer periods without your dog and would like a sitter, they can also facilitate this – please let us know in advance, and they will do their best to help.

Superior Double room
Superior Double Rooms are Ashburn, Lemon and Tavy.
The well-appointed Superior Rooms have bath robes, tea and coffee making facilities, quality luxury toiletries and TV with Freeview and radio channels. Free Wi-Fi is available in public rooms.
ASHBURN
A large bedroom on the second floor with double aspect windows overlooking the garden at the front and the river at the back. It is a beautiful, peaceful room but when the river is high, you can clearly hear (and see) the running water. The room has elegant antique furniture and a classical country house feel! The comfortable marble-tiled bathroom has a large bath fitted with a shower.
LEMON
At the top of the house (2nd floor) with gorgeous views over the hills of Dartmoor this newly refurbished, lovely room features slipper bath with separate shower. It can be booked with the Harbourne suite next door, for a bit of privacy for a group or family. Stylish and spacious this room will not disappoint.

Mill End - Superior Double room
Junior suite
Relax and enjoy one of the spacious Junior Suites where you'll find a super-king bed, and a marble-tiled bathroom with bath and over-bath shower. If you have a specific suite you would like please add to the booking notes but kindly note they are subject to availability. Each Junior suite is unique to itself however all of them are ensuite rooms of good size.
DART
A beautiful, first floor Junior Suite, with a large balcony overlooking the front and side garden of the hotel: Perfect for enjoying a G&T before dinner, or a summer breakfast al fresco. The room has a sumptuous six-foot bed and two comfortable armchairs. Elegant, antique furniture compliments the old-fashioned wooden beams and panels. The granite tiled modern bathroom has a large bath with separate walk in.
HARBOURNE
At the top of the house with views front and back the newest suite boasts a luxury cast iron tub tucked in the corner with separate shower room too. With exposed vaulted ceiling this lodge style room is spacious and comfortable and can easily accommodate families. For groups wanting their own private part of the hotel this can be booked with the next door Superior King room, “Lemon" to form a private floor for up to 6 guests. With air conditioning, 42" TV and LED lighting this stunning room is a favourite.

WOLF
The latest addition to the Teign wing adjacent to the main hotel is the fabulous split level suite with balcony overlooking the River Teign on the first floor. It features a mezzanine with separate sleeping area and spacious lounge beneath. Luxury freestanding bath with a view plus separate shower room and sofa bed. Great for families of 4 but domestic pets not permitted (only wolves!).

This newly refurbished, spacious king size room (six foot bed) is on the first floor. It is a light, bright and peaceful room with views over the garden. The generous sized bathroom has a large bath with shower.
ERME
This is a very popular garden room on the ground floor. Erme boasts a large bright window and a door direct onto the garden with its own patio area and is particularly useful if you have your dogs with you or you like to sit in the sun during the afternoon. The six foot bed can be split to create a twin room if you prefer. The bathroom is cosy but has that essential full size bath with shower.

This first floor Junior Suite is a large, bright room with two windows looking onto the hotel gardens. It has a comfortable six-foot bed and a large sofa to sit and read, or watch TV. The generous bathroom has a large, deep bath fitted with a shower, and plenty of shelf space where you'll find complimentary luxury toiletries.

TEIGN SUITE
Newly renovated in Spring 2024, the second best room in the house. With a huge en-suite bedroom and a separate sitting room. Both the bedroom and sitting room have vast picture windows with fabulous views onto the front garden and across the beautiful Devon countryside to Castle Drogo. The master suite is complemented by plush fabrics, opulent furniture and a truly comfortable Emperor bed. The elegant bathroom has a large bath fitted with a shower and under floor heating. Can comfortably sleep a family of 5.
NEW – now you can access the garden and your own private deck looking over the river/courtyard direct from the Teign Suite.
