Lovely mini break

ZM, Merseyside, stayed: March 2018

We only booked this hotel 24 hours before we arrived and the whole process from check-in to check-out was very smooth, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful (even though the snow was certainly making for interesting challenges I'm sure). We had a package deal which included cream tea on arrival, use of the gym/swimming facilities, evening meal allowance, overnight stay and full breakfast. I thought we had very good value for money and would recommend this hotel to all.

It's OK but it's not luxury

Mark T, Suffolk, stayed: February 2018

Our review is based around the idea that this was meant to be a luxury stay. It's not that there was anything particularly wrong with anything but in no way could it be said to be luxury. We should have come away feeling pampered but we came away feeling disillusioned. The staff were efficient rather than friendly. When we booked up we were told rather bluntly that options for meal times were limited. When we arrived only 3 minutes late for our spa treatment we were told it would have to be cut short. The restaurant again was fine, but again it wasn't anything special. The spa too was fine but the steam and sauna rooms are very small and there was a queue to use the facilities. The cost was 149 per night. If we'd paid half the price then it would have been OK.

good value for money

GA, Avon, stayed: January 2018

A wonderful venue, lovely food - rooms comfy generous size and a good nights sleep!  Slight negatives were:

It was really cold in the bar area - people hogged the fire and the door to spa was open.  When I went in the steam room I burnt my foot really badly from boiling water on the floor.  Apart from this it was brilliant!! Thank you
