The Terrace Lounge and Bar are special places to spend some time when you visit New Hall. Featuring high ceilings, original period features, full height windows with far reaching views of the estate and stylish furniture, all serve to create a sense of grandeur fit for any occasion.

This great country house in the West Midlands was built for pleasure and it is in the lounge and bar where this is most evident. The original lounge with ornate windows is where we serve morning coffee, elevenses, lunches, afternoon tea – stronger options such as Champagne, evening cocktails and late night digestifs can be taken in our bar. Our terrace looks out over moat and hotel gardens, a wonderful backdrop for that afternoon treat or nocturnal refreshment.

Excellent hotel

PR, Shropshire, stayed: April 2019

Despite the fact that the hotel was fairly quiet we didn't get the upgraded room.

Additionally, there were no bathrobes in the room.

Ruby wedding break

Nigel, Somerset, stayed: March 2019

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was warm and impressive on arrival. Lovely moat. Our room was small but had all we needed. There was no chance of an upgrade that day. Our request for a quiet room was done. We used the pool and spa which was excellent including lovely changing rooms.
We went down early for a drink. This was disappointing. We had expected a large lounge with wood burner or fire, magazines, comfy sofa's etc. It was just a bar area which was full already. It would not be suitable if you were with a group of friends. There was only two chairs by an electric fire. We had been told we could not change from our 7pm dinner time. It was too early for us. However, having arrived at 7pm no guests came into the room for about 40 minutes, so there was no atmosphere. The food was good and service, our waiter was new and was excellent.. The dining room a bit cold and gloomy. Breakfast was tasty but the bowls of fruit, yogurt etc needed re filling . The dining room looked better in the daylight.
In all a lovely one night stay but disappointing comfy areas if you are staying longer. I feel a more proactive presence from the management would help and encourage a very hardworking staff.

Lovely Stay

SB, Derbyshire, stayed: January 2019

The hotel is stunning and set in beautiful grounds. It s extremely well kept and very romantic. The spa pool needs revamping but it didn t detract from our stay.
Children are only allowed in pool at certain times.
The beds are exceedingly comfy and a delight. The bathroom was in tip top condition.
The food was ok. We weren't a fan of the lunch menu. Not very varied.
I would definitely stay here again for the package price we paid.

Perfection

Alice, Berkshire, stayed: January 2019

Came for our anniversary weekend away. Were made to feel super welcome even before we came when i called to enquire about spa access before check in. Upon arrival everyone was super helpful and pleasant. Spa facilities were lovely even though we didn't take up the offer of any treatments. Free room upgrade to an executive room was a lovely touch, with a nice view across the courtyard. Dinner was lovely and the waiting staff both in the restaurant and bar were great. Grounds were beautiful to wander round in and the maps from reception were a particularly nice touch. Only regret is we couldn't stay longer.

Poor breakfast service

FS, Nottinghamshire, stayed: November 2018

Overall good stay, evening meal was excellent, room very nice, spa good and a relaxing time was hand. Unfortunately breakfast time did let it down on the second morning we had to wait 15mins to be seated, then 20mins to get a hot drink and then another 20mins for our breakfast to come, it did case a shadow over the weekend.

Excellent Position and lovely grounds

TF, Avon, stayed: November 2018

Had an excellent stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The grounds are very well kept and a delight to walk around. The spa was well equipped and very relaxing. The food was excellent. My wife and I had steaks, cooked to perfection. We had a pre dinner drink in the inviting bar and the service was very efficient and friendly.
Just one small problem when the bill increased by 2, mysteriously, when we paid directly after first opting to charge to the room. We explained this on check out and were told it would be looked into.
