Interesting stay

JF, Surrey, stayed: December 2018

Beautiful building and location, cosey room.
We brought the package including dinner and breakfast.
However the restaurant was extremely overpriced, you couldn t really get the 3 course meal advertised without paying extra. The cost of the meals didn t reflect the quality, the food was pretty average. I think they were aiming for a gourmet experience, the presentation of the food was nice but the taste wasn t great and the menu was quite odd.
The decor in the restaurant could be improved, as it s quite bland compared to the beautiful original features of the building. However we did like the ambience as it felt quite quirky.

Breakfast was good, however the cooked breakfast could have been a bit bigger.
Staff in the restaurant are all really nice, so are the staff in the hotel in general.

The spa/ pool is quite small and was very busy when we went - also an exercise class started half way through and everyone had to move to one half of the small pool, so wasn t very relaxing.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, just a few things that could be improved though
