Interesting old hotel pity about the restaurant

David, Hampshire, stayed: April 2025

The staff were helpful and polite but the restaurant did not justify the cost. My main cause of duck came with a piece so small it was less than a mouthful and definitely not worth 28.

Our Anniversary Cotswolds Trip

AR, Mid Glamorgan, stayed: December 2021

It was a lovely stay. The hotel was very charming, and right next to the Abbey. Ideally located for bracing walks around Malmesbury. The food and room was excellent, and the whole package was fantastic value. Definitely recommend a stay here!

Lovely overnight stay

Mark W, West Midlands, stayed: September 2021

Super hotel , lovely old building with some quirky ornaments scattered around.
Our meal in the restaurant was very good, we had chateaubriand.
The maitre d was particularly attentive but all the staff were very good.

Lovely country hotel

PC, Hertfordshire, stayed: August 2021

We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay. The hotel is in an excellent location and we had a lovely large room with a very comfortable king-sized bed. The dinner and breakfast were excellent and the staff helpful and welcoming. Although there was a wedding party staying at the same time there was little disturbance. The only slight downside is that the car park is quite small and there's little public parking that's very close.

Would have been a 5!

Peter, Buckinghamshire, stayed: June 2021

This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff and great food. The new owners had only been in place a few days aand though the food was a 5 (excellent) we were kept waiting an houur for our starter than another half hour for our main course. The chef certainly knew how to cook but seemed to have no idea how to run a restaurant. Though the manager kindly recompensed us with a voucher, after the experience I am not sure we will ever use it, so no compensation at all in that case.
