Facilities at Paschoe House

As a brand spanking new venue in Mid Devon, everything is shiny and new! There is plenty to do a Paschoe House, enjoy the gardens or take up a local pursuit including 3000-acre estate, horse riding and fishing on Dartmoor, golf in Crediton and walking all over the South West.  Or simply relax and unwind in the luxurious and relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of life – expect calm, quiet and divine cuisine.

The prime Heart of Devon location ensures that you will be in easy reach of all the South West's other attractions, as well as being within an hour's drive of all the beaches without having to stay on the busy coastline.

Tennis

Paschoe House has its own tennis court down in the meadow next to the stream, which can be converted into a netball or a basketball court. Please let us know which you would like and it can be arranged. They can also provide tennis rackets and balls. Use of the tennis court is complimentary for staying guests.

Grounds

Paschoe House has 25-acres of landscaped grounds open to both staying guests and the public.

Walled Garden

Paschoe House boasts a Victorian walled garden growing some of the produce for the restaurant. The walled garden is blissfully quiet and fragrant with 200 lavender plants – the perfect spot to hideaway with a book.

Paschoe Animals

They have a couple of special inhabitants on the Paschoe Estate; bees and chickens. The bees are located below the walled garden, harvesting Paschoe honey for them and served in the restaurant. And the chickens move around the meadow next to the tennis court, the eggs served in the restaurant come from this free-range flock.

Paschoe Orchard

The Paschoe Orchard is located above the tennis court and produces enough apples for the Paschoe pressé apple juice that you will be served at breakfast.

There are no fully accessible rooms at this hotel.

Most of the ground floor is on one level, including the library bar, reception, morning room, dining room and glasshouse.

There are guest toilets on the ground floor, however these are accessible by a flight of 6 steps, there are handrails both sides of the stairs.

For disabled guests, the hotel can arrange access to a toilet on the first floor, which although it has not been fully adapted for wheelchair users is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair.

The first floor is accessible via a lift.

History of the hotel

The Paschoe Estate dates back to the 13th Century but was first recorded in the Domesday Book in 1611 and owned by the Hamlyn family, who also held seats at Clovelly Court, Langdon Court and Leawood. In the early 1800s, it was noticed that the House was starting to subside and so the decision was made to raze it to the ground and re-build it 'more modestly' on higher ground – and so came into existence the Paschoe House that you see today, designed by the official architect of the Exeter Diocesan Architectural Society, John Hayward, and completed in the 1850s.

Child Policy

Children are welcome and can be accommodated in certain rooms - please check availability with our Reservation Team.

The maximum number of additional beds which can be accommodated in a bedroom is 2.

Children under 16 are charged at an additional £50 a night on a bed and breakfast basis.

Dogs Policy

If you are anything like us and you just can't bear to go anywhere without your furry friend then do not fear – Paschoe is here to offer you and your fur babies the perfect petaway full of country walks and naps in front of one of their fires.

They will provide your loved one(s) with their own bed, bowls, toys and treats upon arrival.

After a long walk, there are lovely fresh towels waiting to wipe down your pooch in the porch but if he/she is incredibly dirty, hand them over to one of the staff and we will be more than happy to give them a wash with their luxury doggie shampoo.

They have three luxury dog friendly rooms from the Spacious and Sensational categories, and they are also more than welcome in the Library Bar and Morning Room downstairs.

Paschoe House is dog friendly, dogs are welcome throughout the hotel except for the dining room. Please advise the team upon booking if you are bringing your dog as there are a selection of dog friendly rooms.  A dog charge is applicable

The grounds

The Amador family re-built the Victorian walled garden, which was covered by a landslide in the early 1900s, built a tennis court and outbuildings, as well as the Tudor Gothic front porch and for the last 10 years have been tirelessly transforming Paschoe House back to its former glory.
