Fabulous retreat and perfect base to explore North Yorkshire

SN, Middlesex, stayed: August 2019

We chose the Raithwaite Estate as a base for our UK holiday, to combine countryside rambling and exploring with some peaceful relaxation and comfort, and were not disappointed. The staff are super helpful and friendly (which was great when we experience car troubles towards the end of our stay), the Brasserie menu very well planned with delicious local produce, the room was very comfortable and the spa was fairly managed and the treatments were divine. We stayed on the 2 night package which we considered very good value for money, and whilst we did feel that the service in the restaurant could be quite over-relaxed at times, there was nothing we could fault - and would definitely stay here again. Even the choice of products in the rooms was ideal and added to the ambience!

Not as special as we had hoped

JM, South Humberside, stayed: August 2019

Disappointed. We felt that it was overpriced for what we got. There needs to be more attention to detail. Dining room in particular was disappointing especially when they were busy. Food was ok but not amazing. Swimming pool is very good and the location is stunning. Some of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Beautiful bedrooms and grounds

Susan, Northumberland, stayed: June 2019

Lovely bedroom with large balcony and great shower. Excellent staff, very helpful and pleasant. Beautiful grounds, loved the golf buggy transfer.
Within walking distance of Whitby.
Breakfast was good but fairly cold. Dinner on the first night was very good, less good on the second night - there was a wedding which may have interfered with the standards.
