Connemara, Co. Galway, Ireland,
Early Christmas treat in the west!
We both enjoyed a very pleasant and enjoyable time in the Renvyle Hotel. The food, the rooms and the general manner of the staff were all first class. All being well in 2019 we would hope to return.
We have stayed here a number of times and again we're not disappointed. Great hotel to have a relaxing break.
Renvyle House Hotel takes you back to a time when good service/good food/charm and ambience were what all good hotels had and sadly a lot do not have today! But Renvyle house does and add this to a stunning location (if the weather is good as it was with us) and it is one of the most relaxing stays you could have.
Three stars stuck in a time warp
Lovely, lovely hospitable people doing their very best to make an old lady of a hotel habitable and comfortable.
Renvyle House is pleasant enough. The location is excellent, right on the sea in Connemara.
But please set your watches back 25 years as you approach. There is nothing bad to say about the hotel, apart perhaps from the creatively priced drinks and the clanky plumbing. There is probably little that couldn't be put right by some/a lot of new furnishings, a few pots of brighter paint and a serious and comprehensive menu update.
It's all just a bit sad and depressing. Comfortable enough, but a tad depressing.
Hotel with character
A quirky hotel with character. Comfortable rooms and an excellent restaurant.
We love here and have been visiting for the last 40 years followed by two more generations. That has to be an endorsement.
Some people want the best. Some people want the very best then after that is Renvyle
