Connemara, Co. Galway, Ireland,
Renyyl - Amazing!
Fabulous hotel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in stunning Connemara. It's like walking into a Miss Marple location! Staff amazing and restaurant superb. Manager spoke to every guest at breakfast and dinner time. Room with onsuite, dated room which could do with a refurb, small but comfortable bed.
All in all a really relaxing wind down stay.
Great place to stay.
We had a relaxing stay here. Staff very friendly. Beautiful location set off by the lovely weather. We look forward to returning.
Amazing location pity about the rooms
Myself and my boyfriend booked a 2 night stay here with one nights dinner and 2 breakfasts included. The breakfast and dinner where lovely and we couldn't fault the food. The location is amazing also set beside the beach and the mountains. There were plenty of activities to do for free as well and most of the staff were friendly and accommodating. The problem came with the room, we stayed in room 74. The outdated decor we could have dealt with but during our stay it was 24/25 degrees outside and hotter inside the room. There was a hot water pipe running up the walls by the door which was a constant source of heat in an already hot room without aircon. We were unable to leave the window open at night because they only open one way and come out through the curtains so they can't block the light. But the worst part was the bed. The mattress was so old and soft that neither by boyfriend or myself slept for the two nights to the point where we both tried to sleep on the floor but where unable. There is also a 13 tog duvet on the bed in the middle of summer. We told a lady at breakfast after the first night and she said that she can't control the heat!!! When we checked out the following morning (at 9am as my boyfriend couldn't wait to get out of there) the lady on reception was not bothered and offered a half hearted apology and proceeded to make us pay our full bar tab without offering to reimburse us for ANY of our terrible time. Having worked in hospitality for many years this to me was the final nail in the coffin. We left feeling exhausted and let down. When entering the hotel there is a sign saying you are now entering a stress free zone, do not believe this. We left needing a holiday from our holiday.
Old world but nice
Breakfast was 10/10, I had Plaice and hollandaise and poached eggs, really nice.
My wife had kippers and the other couple full Irish, all good.
Dinner was good.
Room , clean tidy, would have liked a fridge.
Beautiful views . Boats for fishing. Did not try swimming pool.
Will probably return.
Renvyle House 2 nights stay 4 people June 2019: Exceptional Food, professional helpful staff.
This was a return visit to Renvyle, our last visit was 2014. The location is absolutely stunning and we were fortunate with good weather.
We love good food and wine and felt that the quality and presentation of food using local ingredients was exceptional.
The young waiter from Croatia ( I think) was so polite and helpful.
The hotel has been extended since our last visit and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here, just wish we'd had more time.
Our friends were very impressed, it was their first visit.
Early Christmas treat in the west!
We both enjoyed a very pleasant and enjoyable time in the Renvyle Hotel. The food, the rooms and the general manner of the staff were all first class. All being well in 2019 we would hope to return.
