our stay at Seckford

HB, Hampshire, stayed: April 2025

A marvelous venue in a building with enormous character and interest. Reception team were very welcoming and showed us to our room and offered to take luggage - almost unheard of now outside of London. Our room had double aspect overlooking manicured grounds and the chicken enclosure. Restaurant was lovely and breakfast was buffet part served. Spa pool was warm - too warm on one day for swimming but ideal for lounging about!
All in all a spectacular stay

Bedroom quite dark with poor lighting. Flow of water in shower very poor. Comfortable beds. Restaurant staff very attentive but service a bit slow, perhaps due to waiting staff numbers being too few for the number of guests there. Food was well presented & good apart from the breakfast waffles which were inedible.
House & grounds were beautiful & location ideal as a base for sightseeing. Only drawback was satnav misdirection which took us through a housing estate to a dead end - seckford hall drive instead of seckford hall!
In spite of small niggles we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Seckford Hall 50th Family and Friends get together

Elaine, Buckinghamshire, stayed: March 2025

I just had to do a review of Seckford Hall and Country Hotel Breaks as we booked this 6 months in advance for my 50th Birthday celebration and it really didn't disappoint. We had a mixture of about 35 of us, all ages (adults) staying for either the 2 or 3 nights Friday to Monday and the deal we booked through Country Hotel Breaks was great value for money with the champers in the room and the dinner included.
On arrival at Seckford Hall, the Tudor building is stunning and you instantly feel calm! Lots of parking and the the staff on reception were so friendly and welcoming.
We had pre booked a slot for the spa so enjoyed being in there for a while, one of the hot tubs wasn't working but it wasn't an issue as it wasn't busy. The indoor pool was so warm! The steam and sauna rooms are great and the staff in the spa were lovely too. ESPA products all through the hotel are lovely too.
Our room was ready early and our Junior suite was fabulous, situated in the courtyard with two floors with a lounge area, hall and downstairs bathroom and stairs to a beautifully decorated bedroom with separate toilet and bath in the room. (Room 35) which overlooks the spa with a door out to the back of the property too which was handing for parking nearby. Nicole was brilliant in helping me set up the evening meal/decorations in the Pavilion Suite (we had booked the great hall but due to the restaurant still being finished the other guests were in there) this meant we had a huge room for both nights and really enhanced the experience and was so much fun. We had a set meal which we pre ordered and the service of the staff was really professional and the food choice from the chef was great and tasted delicious.
Dan the events person was also happy to help with anything and went above and beyond his job role, helping us with a member of the group that needed extra assistance. Again couldn't do enough for us and took all the stress away from me organising drinks and room bills etc.
Abi and Peter the owners are lovely humans and came to introduce themselves and it was nice to see them around the hotel checking on everything and to be there if we needed them (Thank you to Abi for all your help with sorting the rooms for specific guests)
The hotel is nearing the end of its refurbishments and they are doing their best not to let it affect guests. The style of old and new decor is spot on and you can tell a lot of thought (and money) has gone into the refurbishments. The grounds are wonderful and Woodbridge a 5 min drive away is a lovely town to explore.
Overall everyone had such a brilliant time and we would love to go back one day.
