Lovely hotel
Stayed for one night, looked amazing from the outside, inside was old and quaint. Customer service was excellent, very helpful and friendly staff. The room we stayed in was quite small and the shower not great but the grounds were stunning and we enjoyed before and after drinks out there.
Perfect for a short break
Our recent overnight stay at Seckford Hall was extremely relaxing. A delightful old building offering the perfect retreat to take time out. Staff were consistently excellent and attention to detail was evident almost everywhere. We were however disappointed to find two light bulbs not working in the bathroom but did not discover this until we had run a bath and we decided reporting it at that moment would not lead to an immediate resolution but did feel lights should be checked every time the bathroom is cleaned. In addition, although there were complimentary bath, shower and hair products there was no complimentary body lotion which is essential after a long soak in the bath and usually supplied in such establishments. Overall a fabulous place to stay and one we hope to return to.
Disappointed
Very disappointment that Country Hotel Breaks did not pass on fact that pool and jacuzzi were closed for repairs. Very poor that due due to lack of staff no spa treatments were available to book during entire stay.
Quality of room was nothing like as expected. Room not been cleaned properly upon arrival and dirty robes left in wardrobe. Toilet flush broke and bath drainage blocked.
Main building looking very tired and run down.
Staff were generally very good and helpful and tried to fix issues but inexperienced and multi tasking due to lack of staff.
On the plus side the bed was extremely comfortable and the food, particularly the beef wellington and tapas were very good.
Suffolk stay
Had a lovely midweek dinner, bed and breakfast stay at this gorgeuos historic hotel. The grounds had wonderful old oak trees and a lake. Our room had its own balcony which was very nice. We would recommend it to friends and family.
Anniversary stay
Lovely hotel and staff. Restaurant food and service excellent . Was aware I had to book a dining time but did not realise a breakfast time had to be booked and could only fit us in for 9 15 am. I would have phoned and booked a time beforehand had I known. Shame pool was closed.
Cosy, comfortable, calm
We had a great midweek stay, just right for a middle aged couple who needed a treat. It was a perfect ambiance and friendly staff, grounds and location great, and tasty inspiring food. The only disappointment was the barely available spa which we had been looking forward to, only one staff member one day and not available at all one day, rather put us off and so we ignored it altogether and concentrated on the lovely hotel.
