Disappointing

Anon, stayed: December 2017

Despite having stated in your booking that the room would have a sea view we were allocated a small back room with no sea view. The staff at the reception desk claimed they did not know that our booking with you stated a sea view. Having complained we were shown a second room with some sea view which smelt damp and was totally unacceptable for a six night stay. Eventually we were given a more spacious room with sea view. This was not a good beginning to our stay.
Generally there seemed to be little overall organisation - service was at best hit and miss.
On two nights there was no bar food available - there did not seem to be a separate lounge menu. it seemed as though the kitchen could not cope with the numbers staying.
We were initially charged for our daily newspaper despite the package with you stating that this was complimentary.
Certainly not a luxurious hotel.

Our great stay!!!

Steve E, West Sussex, stayed: April 2017

We had a great time from the moment we arrived. The helpful receptionist explained how our balcony was the best in the hotel, and made even more special with the bottle of chilled champagne waiting in our room!

A couple of suggestions

1) a nespreso machine for coffee in the room would have been great!!!

2) tea pigs fruit tea bags were in the bar but again a couple in the room too

The only issue I would raise is that the burgers we had in the bar one evening were served on wooden boards. These were split so the hot fat that came out of the burger dripped through the board rather than being trapped in the board... It might look fancy but burger fat up your arm not so good!!!

Could have done better

Anon, stayed: February 2017

Quite a good hotel.  But very disappointed paid extra for romantic Valentine's two night break with romantic dinner.  Food was ok but as a romantic night not any sign of flowers or even a heart, could have been any night of the year. Not good.

Amazing Valentine's Package!!

Paul W, Dorset, stayed: February 2017

Booked a Valentine's Package through a discount website and it was incredible!! From our arrival onwards the quality of the experience was perfect.  I had read reviews which mentioned the neighbouring building work, but it had no effect on the superb luxury we experienced. We grabbed a space in the on-site car park, and headed in with our bags. We booked our newspapers for each morning during check-in, and were very helpfully reminded of our dinner time for that evening. A really lovely bottle of champagne was chilling in our room on arrival.  Our room was so sumptuous! A huge bed was positioned with a view, straight out through two large windows all the way down to the sea and stunning coastline beyond. It was heavenly. The bathroom was well appointed with loads of towels, all kinds of lotions and soap dispensers, and a really hot and effectively flowing shower which was easy to use. There was a bath too, but we never used it! Loads of storage space and a large wardrobe helped us to move in easily!  We had a stunning dinner in the restaurant, the presentation of each course was amazing, the food looked and tasted incredible! We had an amazing bottle of wine with it too, the waiter had great knowledge to help us make an informed decision.  We used the gym on both days, it was busy, but there was a fairly constant cycle of people through so never had to wait to use any equipment. The gym was well appointed with some excellent machines. The weights area and some of the barbells were a bit tired looking, but they are due a massive refit soon so I have no doubt this will be sorted!  The swimming pool was nice, sauna and steam room huge and lots of room. The pool area again was on the whole a bit tired looking, it was however very clean and tidy so once again when the refurb comes this will be a great space! My fiance had a 30 minute back massage and she really loved, value too.
On the whole, the experience was near perfect, we will definitely be back soon, and it was such a great place to relax after I popped the question - she really felt spoilt!  We ate sandwiches both days in the bar area for lunch, and the quality of the food and the faultless service was excellent.  Go here, it's awesome!!
