Installed a wood-chip boiler, which is used to provide all heating and hot water requirements. This avoids the use of oil and, as it uses a renewable energy source, it is a carbon neutral operation.  All residual waste is used for a "waste to energy" scheme which means it is treated at the Thirsk plant and then shipped to Rotterdam where it is incinerated to create hot water for local manufacturing plants and electricity that is fed into the grid.

The Rooms at Swinton Park

Birthday Treat

Ray H, Lancashire, stayed: October 2018

From arriving at the hotel we were made to feel we mattered. The room was very welcoming, we were shown how to use the coffee machine, biscuits on the side and a small bottle of sloe gin along with chocolate truffles on the table. Samuels restaurant was superb, the food outstanding and the service excellent. We used the spa and had a massage and Shannon who gave it to me was very attentive and I felt very relaxed just a shame didn't have time to go for another one. We had a lovely walk round the estate and felt very relaxed would like to go again in the summer when the walled garden will be in full bloom. All round an excellent stay and would certainly go again and recommend to friends for a relaxing stay.

Excellent stay!

Jack L, Lancashire, stayed: August 2018

Stayed at Swinton Park Hotel for two nights late August. The surrounding area boasts spectacular views that could be seen from our room window. We ate at Samuel s on the first night which was not what we are usually used too, however small yet flavoursome plates. On the last night we went to the Terrace restaurant, the food here was also great. Throughout the stay we used full use of the spa facilities, this was both mine and my boyfriends favourite part of our stay. As we stayed mid week it was moderately quiet when using the pool and spa retreat (my personal favourite). We both had two treatments each which were amazing and made us both feel stress free. To finish our Swinton Park experience we hired bikes and ordered a backpackers picnic to take with us, this enabled us to then explore the grounds and enjoy the outdoors before we head back to city life! The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful; everyone always had a welcoming smile on their face. Me and my boyfriend are already planning our return trip as we enjoyed it so much! 5 out of 5 service and hospitality!
