Bedroom situation

IT, Hampshire, stayed: October 2019

We are both well in our 70's and had not anticipated so many steps to our bedroom, 43 in total; assumed there was not a lift. Although we were slow not to ask for assistance, did think when we were initially shown our room reception could have asked if we needed help with our case, the last two flights had very small treads, difficult for a man's size foot.

Good hotel but some issues

SR, Warwickshire, stayed: October 2019

Hotel is lovely but a bit too remote for us as not within walking distance of anything. Might be ok without a poorly ankle! Food was delicious so ate in hotel restaurant both nights. A lovely waitress on duty both nights, very helpful. Breakfast was silver served on Friday morning but then Saturday morning suddenly was a buffet! No explanation and not well organised. Tried to order one fried egg but it took 10 minutes to arrive so had finished breakfast by then. Bedroom very small and disappointing and it was supposed to be a deluxe room. Sink was cracked(but mended) shower was good but we struggled to get in and out easily.

What is 'deluxe'?

Elizabeth, Norfolk, stayed: October 2019

The room we were given was NOT deluxe. It was small, with stains on the carpet, rotten wood in the window frame, cobwebs on the sash windows, and litter on the roof outside the window.
The staff were all good, and the evening meal was excellent. Breakfast was poor and for a hotel to have no marmalade, beggars belief.
If you advertise in the Times that there is a bottle of champagne on arrival - don't give us Prosecco -
advertise it as Prosecco, please.

We did enjoy our stay and the room was lovely. The food was amazing only thing that let them down was the lack of waiting and bar staff service took a lot longer than expected.
