Facilities at The Airds Hotel

The entrance to the hotel is through a small flower filled conservatory which looks out towards Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond. Here you can relax any time of the day and read or admire the view over a cup of coffee or enjoy a lunch watching 'life' go by. It is most popular for afternoon tea when it gets the best of the sun and for pre dinner drinks with the sun setting over the mountains.

Once through into the main hallway the atmosphere is one of a luxury country house. From here guests can step into the first of two lounges with the second beyond.

The intimacy of the smaller lounge encourages conversation, helped considerably by the gentle crackle of the log fire. The décor is bright with cream coloured wood paneling and brightly coloured sofas and chairs. Guests often relax here after breakfast and perhaps read the newspapers which are replenished every day.

The second larger lounge is a little more traditional in décor. However the large sofas and chairs all in a rich blend of colours and fabrics encourage guests to relax, perhaps by the fire reading one of the many magazines or admiring the wide range of artwork on the walls.

The restaurant follows through with a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, guests can admire the stunning views of Loch Linnhe and the mountains of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula beyond.

You could also enjoy a wee dram in the intimate setting of our whisky bar, purpose built for us in beautiful American Walnut.

In front of the hotel, across the lane, is our garden. This spacious area is a great place to enjoy a light lunch or afternoon tea whilst admiring the beautiful views across the loch. For the slightly more energetic there is always a game of croquet to consider or perhaps a little putting to keep you in practice - all with that amazing view!

The Airds Restaurant

Reputed to be one of the best in Scotland, thanks to the abundance of fresh local ingredients and some of the best shellfish right on our doorstep.  Add that to an enthusiastic brigade in the kitchen and hopefully we have a winning formula! Three AA rosettes will provide the assurance that only the best will do.  This inspiring environment has also assured a Gold Award with Eat Scotland and a continuous presence in the Good Food guide for 37 years!

The seasonal dinner menu offers a good choice each day and has achieved recommendation in the esteemed Michelin Guide in 2015. The Restaurant style embodies crisp white table linens, fresh flowers and a romantic candle-light atmosphere, offering an à la carte menu which specialises in producing the best of Local Scottish Seafood, as well as our renowned Scottish meat and game.

All guests are automatically reserved a table in the restaurant where Head Chef provides the very best and freshest Scottish Seafood that the West Coast has to offer, together with local Scottish meat such as Venison and Beef.

In addition to our dinner menu we also offer a 7 course Tasting Menu with or without matching wines and this has proved very popular with our guests.

The restaurant is also open for lunch and in fine weather you can dine with a light lunch in the garden or the conservatory. We also offer a very reasonably priced Sunday lunch menu.

Full Afternoon Tea is offered daily in the lounges, garden or the conservatory.

It is all complemented by an impressive and varied wine list which includes some excellent vintages from some of the best growers. The cellar includes many affordably priced classics, both full and half bottles.

Luxurious weekend in a **** Hotel on the West Coast of Scotland

Digby W, Lanarkshire, stayed: March 2018

Airds Hotel is an 11 bedroomed privately owned Country House Hotel at Port Appin on the west coast of Scotland. Personal service is of the highest standard throughout, along with the finest gourmet dining and an impressive wine list served in a candlelit restaurant, all supported within a stunning location, made our stay memorable and relaxing.

Spectacularly situated on Loch Linnhe, with Glencoe, Ben Nevis and the busy town of Oban nearby, with its ferry trips to the islands of Mull and Lismore, there is plenty to do, and admire, but use of a car would be necessary.

Special place for Golden Wedding Anniversary

IB, North Yorkshire, stayed: March 2017

We wanted to stay somewhere special for our golden Wedding Anniversary- and we were not disappointed. The staff were so friendly and helpful and gave us a lovely welcome. Our room was large and comfortable with a balcony. We really enjoyed the dinner each evening, including all the 'intermediate' courses so attractively presented.
The location was wonderful, the views across the loch towards the island and hills was stunning and we had wall to wall sunshine! On our anniversary we took the passenger ferry to Lismore Island and had a perfect day's walk. .

Airds retreat

Alastair M, Dorset, stayed: April 2016

A great place to use as a base for exploring this part of the mainland. Remote enough to be away from heavy traffic yet isolated enough to work as a luxurious getaway.easy access to many nearby islands.
Food was delicious and extremely well presented. Perhaps the only issue was that the menu didn't change over 4 days,. Wouldn't go amiss to gave a couple of changeable options accompanying the A la Carte.
