Facilities at The Airds Hotel
The entrance to the hotel is through a small flower filled conservatory which looks out towards Loch Linnhe and the mountains beyond. Here you can relax any time of the day and read or admire the view over a cup of coffee or enjoy a lunch watching 'life' go by. It is most popular for afternoon tea when it gets the best of the sun and for pre dinner drinks with the sun setting over the mountains.
Once through into the main hallway the atmosphere is one of a luxury country house. From here guests can step into the first of two lounges with the second beyond.
The intimacy of the smaller lounge encourages conversation, helped considerably by the gentle crackle of the log fire. The décor is bright with cream coloured wood paneling and brightly coloured sofas and chairs. Guests often relax here after breakfast and perhaps read the newspapers which are replenished every day.
The second larger lounge is a little more traditional in décor. However the large sofas and chairs all in a rich blend of colours and fabrics encourage guests to relax, perhaps by the fire reading one of the many magazines or admiring the wide range of artwork on the walls.
The restaurant follows through with a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, guests can admire the stunning views of Loch Linnhe and the mountains of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula beyond.
You could also enjoy a wee dram in the intimate setting of our whisky bar, purpose built for us in beautiful American Walnut.
In front of the hotel, across the lane, is our garden. This spacious area is a great place to enjoy a light lunch or afternoon tea whilst admiring the beautiful views across the loch. For the slightly more energetic there is always a game of croquet to consider or perhaps a little putting to keep you in practice - all with that amazing view!
The photo of the outside of the hotel shows a road, which may not look appealing. The reality is that the road is extremely quiet.
There is no spa here, but the hotel can arrange in-room treatments for those wanting to enhance their stay.

Room 2 has a queen size double bed (5 foot) and is on the first floor. This room has an en-suite shower.
Room 14 has a small size double bed (4ft 6") and is on the second floor. This room has the most amazing views of Loch Linnhe and the Morvern mountains. The room is small and is not recommended for anyone with mobility restrictions as it is accessed via a small staircase and whilst the room does have amazing views it is a Classic room because it is regarded as a small room. There is a bath and shower in this Classic Double room's en-suite.
The Small Superior rooms, both of which benefit from amazing views of Loch Linnhe and the Morvern mountains are exquisitely decorated in the rich, yet relaxed, Airds style with a whisky mac, sumptuous bathrobes, comfy slippers, Frette Linen and Bulgari toiletries. Both rooms have a queen size double bed (5 foot) with the best choice of bed - Vi Spring! They both have a sophisticated feel to them, and each has an en-suite with bath and overhead shower.

One of the Superior rooms also benefits from a private balcony which is a real sun trap in the summer. Room 24 is on the ground floor for those who have more of a mobility restriction.

Luxurious weekend in a **** Hotel on the West Coast of Scotland
Airds Hotel is an 11 bedroomed privately owned Country House Hotel at Port Appin on the west coast of Scotland. Personal service is of the highest standard throughout, along with the finest gourmet dining and an impressive wine list served in a candlelit restaurant, all supported within a stunning location, made our stay memorable and relaxing.
Spectacularly situated on Loch Linnhe, with Glencoe, Ben Nevis and the busy town of Oban nearby, with its ferry trips to the islands of Mull and Lismore, there is plenty to do, and admire, but use of a car would be necessary.
Special place for Golden Wedding Anniversary
We wanted to stay somewhere special for our golden Wedding Anniversary- and we were not disappointed. The staff were so friendly and helpful and gave us a lovely welcome. Our room was large and comfortable with a balcony. We really enjoyed the dinner each evening, including all the 'intermediate' courses so attractively presented.
The location was wonderful, the views across the loch towards the island and hills was stunning and we had wall to wall sunshine! On our anniversary we took the passenger ferry to Lismore Island and had a perfect day's walk. .
A great place to use as a base for exploring this part of the mainland. Remote enough to be away from heavy traffic yet isolated enough to work as a luxurious getaway.easy access to many nearby islands.
Food was delicious and extremely well presented. Perhaps the only issue was that the menu didn't change over 4 days,. Wouldn't go amiss to gave a couple of changeable options accompanying the A la Carte.
