The location is stunning. We really enjoyed the food in the restaurant and the spa very relaxing. The room we stayed in had a wonderfull view of the lake with patio door onto balcony. Unfortunately it really needed a re-furb as the furniture and fitting were very tired. Thank you to off Peak Lukury for efficient and friendly service.

Was hoping for more

Anon, stayed: May 2019

We were most disappointed by our evening meal. We made a reservation for the hotel restaurant. We got there early to get a drink at the bar. I ordered a drink and was told they had no mint which was a key ingredient. My husband was disappointed with the lack of good beer choices, but ordered a bottled beer which he then was told that they had none cold in the refrigerator. He then ordered another beer, which was served to him warm. The dinner meal was very disappointing! None of our three courses were well prepared or tasty. Thankfully we didn t pay for any of the food as it was included on our voucher that was given to us as a wedding gift. It was not worth the price it would have been. The room was standard, but we were hoping for a better view of the lake. Breakfast was also disappointing. We heard others complaining in the restaurant while we ate. When we return to the beautiful Lakes, we won t stay here again.

Celebration weekend

SE, Essex, stayed: May 2019

The hotel is billed as luxurious and special. The rooms live up to this but he restaurant has issues. The restaurant requested our very large party pre order the main event meals. This we all did but they could not deliver all the courses at the same time to all of the party. some courses were left out and the staff did seem to be in need of further training. Bread rolls arrived after the starters and there was not any dedicated servers . This was surprising as we were the only large party and there were few other diners in the restaurant at the same time.
On the subsequent meals times some of our party had to get up and request certain items form the servers who were talking at the serving station. they should undergo more training to better deliver the service this hotel warrants. The restaurant manager was polite but he can not carry out all serving duties and he relies on staff performing better.

Ok. Not as impressed as previously!

Christie, Stockton-on-Tees, stayed: April 2019

2 years ago I paid the same price but received an extra evening 3 course meal, a lake cruise, a spa bath and also had bath robes and a better room. I was very impressed that time. This time however, was very different. Yes, I knew I got less for my money this time, on booking. However, not good value for money at all when I have that comparison to make!! We got a room on the first floor right next to the door meaning I had very little sleep the first night as it was constantly opening and closing with loud people constantly around. Our room was disappointing to say the least. If it hadn't have been for the fantastic lake view I would have complained. No spa tub like previously... crap shower which had hardly any pressure/power. Towels were stained. No bath robes or slippers. One hot chocolate and one packet of biscuits provided (2 people, 300 paid). Little things make a big difference!!! Room was basic and pretty naff to be honest. View is amazing but the roof is a mess and is in great need of tidying up and some TLC!! Staff were great, no concerns. Breakfast - OK. Little pastries left by 08:30. Nothing was refilled apart from hot food which was very basic. Dinner was beautiful. Staff very polite and friendly in the restaurant!!
Would be nice to not have to ask for vegetarian menu and to maybe just have those options on the normal menu as very restricted menu if you aren't into meat. Also, it would be nice to know 48hours in advance what the menu is in order to decide which night to eat in the restaurant.

The spa is good but WAY too hot room temperature. I had to leave early both days as very difficult to relax in that heat!!!
Jacuzzi needed cleaning out. Outdoor lounges were very messy and not tidied up. Changing area is way too small. View from jacuzzi however, is amazing.

Lots of little things to be improved!!
Not the best deal for 300. I would not book again for this price.
