Thoroughly enjoyable break away

Alex M, North Lincolnshire, stayed: October 2015

It was the first time stopping at The Beech Hill Hotel and I wouldn't hesitate in stopping there again. We went up on a Monday and spent two nights there, along with my wife and 6 year old. The entrance reception was clean, warm and welcoming and the view over Windermere was unobstructed. The room was clean and well set out although we had to call for an extra camp bed for my son as there was only the one bed in the room. The restaurant was fabulous and mealtime was a real treat. Five courses with a wide variety to choose from! Only downside is the amount of stairs, there were 4 long flights to climb and descend between our room and reception / and restaurant.

Helpful and friendly staff

Laura, Manchester, stayed: September 2015

I booked this hotel for my husbands birthday- one night with 5 course dinner and breakfast the next day, I also included a bottle of champagne in the room as an extra. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and the champagne was already in our room waiting for us. The room was lovely and the view was amazing, the only comment about the room would be the space on the shower, my husband is 6 foot 2 and touched the ceiling when he stood in the shower.
The 5 course meal was lovely, food excellent and atmosphere perfect, however a few lights sometimes flickered which was a bit annoying but didn't spoil the meal. Breakfast was also lovely.
The staff throughout our stay was very helpful and extremely friendly.

Weekend getaway

Karen C, Northumberland, stayed: September 2015

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Beech Hill for his 40th birthday. Overall we had a great stay, Bowness is lovely, we had a package which included dinner on the first night which was lovely and the restaurant staff were good although service was a bit clinical, not a lot if personality but I guess that's not a massive problem, I suppose I expected a bit more Cumbrian charm. The room was lovely and we had a terrace overlooking the lake which was delightful. The hotel overall doesn't exude luxury and is a bit worn in places but it is a lovely place to have a peaceful stay and discover the area.

Lynn, Blyth, stayed: September 2015

Staff friendly and helpful. Room was very clean but extremely hot overnight. Food was good. Good to have swimming pool but water was cold. Could do with a hot tub or jacuzzi with swimming pool. Nice touch to have boat trip and bottle of wine included. Lovely location.

Wonderful

Colin & Delia, Hampshire, stayed: September 2015

We could only stay for two days but truely wished we could have stayed much longer. The Garden Room was comfortable and wonderfully relaxing. It was a pleasure to have such attentive staff and we really enjoyed the excellent menu. Definitely on our list to return.
