One step away from exceptional
Great hotel and staff were excellent. We were there for a short break with family
Only downside was the unaval8bity of a room for guests to relax in.
There was a lovely lounge but it was in use for meetings most of our stay.
Stay at The Bell Inn
We paid a whopping 620.00 for our 2 nights including dinner for 140 across the 2 nights for my wife and I.
We booked a deluxe room, it was anything but, very tired and very noisy. No soap in the bath / shower. Mattress on one of the beds was like a canoe, overall room was really disappointing and certainly not deluxe.
Food was quite good but a limited menu, especially starters. Service first night in restaurant was poor and yet the hotel thinks it's acceptable to add a service charge to your bill. Bill was also incorrect when we went to pay.
My wife and I have had a very challenging year and this was meant to be a much earned treat but we feel we were misold and massively let down. Very poor value for money
Stayed in room 22
Our 2 night stay in the New Forest
Our stay was OK. Food was good.
We didn t realise that the hotel was probably best suited for golfers and dog lovers!
My wife has asthma and suffered for a couple of days.
The bathroom shower needs updating.
This was a special offer at a 4* hotel - it didn t feel like it.
Generally a good hotel
Hotel was nice.
Positives - Staff were really good. Lovely big room. Comfortable, good location.
Negatives - Breakfast poor quality. Continental not really a continental. Definitely not worth 25 each.
We had breakfast included but decided not to have on the 2nd day preferring to find a nice cafe.
Cleaning of room could be better. Coffee machine had stale water in that was mouldy. Surprised the dirty towels weren t collected and replaced. Room cleaning only consisted of making the bed nothing else.
Disappointed as expecting 4 star hotel standard
Situated on a very busy B road with traffic passing close to our room all day, it was noisy during the day but quieter at night . The food was acceptable, but not generous. Sadly the bar was used as a restaurant with no where to have a pre- dinner drink. The restaurant was hardly used, There was limited menu and the soup was he same night after night. Limited cutlery on tables (knife, fork and paper serviette only). Had to ask for additional cutlery and side plates.
Breakfast was expensive (if optional extra) and you had to use the one knife for eating cooked breakfast and butter toast, unless you proactively, as I did, find side plates and additional knives. They had no toast racks and had to be asked is you wanted toast and marmalade. Toas came on a plate laid flat.
Porridge was not available. Coffee came in cafetieres but it was just a receptacle and the coffee temperature varied from cafetiere to cafetiere.
The food was Ok, but portions were small and it was definitely not 4 star and we did not think it value for money
Overrated and hardly luxurious
Didn t have a pleasant experience
We were offered a complimentary afternoon tea when we arrived and were pleasantly surprised and so had it.We had asked them to check we were entitled to it and told yes.
We were later told by receptionist that this was an error and we had to pay for it or otherwise they d forfeit our evening dinner voucher for hi h was part of our package!
We were made to feel quite dishonest and uncomfortable as if it was our fault!
Bedroom was small n basic.
Dirty towels left by cleaner and not replaced.
Luckily our breakfast was included in our package otherwise 24.99for a cooked breakfast!
Nothing luxurious about this hotel
