We have stayed at the Grosvenor on a number of occasions and always find it a very pleasant experience. The hotel is luxurious but not ostentatious. The staff are helpful and friendly.
Our room was excellent and very well appointed ( we stayed at the back of the hotel which is much quieter than the front). The location in the centre of the city is perfect.
Food in the brasserie is very good. Highly recommended.

We didn't want to leave the Chester Grosvenor!

David M, Shropshire, stayed: November 2018

There are places you should stay at least once in your life and the Chester Grosvenor has to be one of them. We recently stayed here overnight for our Ruby 40th Wedding Anniversary and it could not be faulted. It was everything we expected and more. From the minute we arrived everything was first class. Didn't have to touch a thing! On arrival outside our luggage was whisked away to our room and I paid fro the car to be valet parked. Checking in was seamless. Lovely staff who wished us a happy anniversary. Our package with Off Peak Luxury allowed for a complimentary upgrade if available and boy did we get it.

We were given a suite on the 4th floor. A fantastic room as you would expect here. So much space with a sofa, reading chairs and writing desk overlooking the famous Eastgate clock. Can't think of a bigger bed we have ever slept in (had to text my wife if she fancied meeting up for a cuddle!). Then down to the Arkle bar for a complimentary glass of Tattinger champagne and a traditional afternoon tea which I had previously booked. Fabulous food, all obviously hand made. No slices of cake here! Followed by fresh scones with jam and cream with tea or coffee of your choice. A half bottle of champagne helped wash it all down.

Afterwards we had a brief walk around part of the roman walls to get a bit of fresh air, You can join them literally outside the hotel at the Eastgate clock, and do the whole circuit of the city from here if you wish. About 40 minutes or so. But we decided we would rather be back in the lap of luxury and a well deserved nap.

A phone early evening call from housekeeping to ask what time you wanted your bed turning down got us going again and after a luxurious bath ambled down to Le Brasserie for pre-dinner cocktail ( already purchased a voucher from the Grosvenor website where you can book all sorts of extra treats and pampering) Followed by a beautifully prepared meal for which we had been given a 50 allowance by our Luxury package. A lovely evening, perfect for the occasion.

Had a great nights sleep? in that enormous bed then somehow managed to get down for breakfast by10.00am. How we ate it all I don't know but it was wonderfully cooked. Luxury gave us a complimentary upgrade for this, from continental to a la carte (normally 9.50 each). And to finish off our stay, our luggage was collected from our room and we were asked what time would we like our car outside. It was there on the dot and already packed. We just could not fault the whole experience.

We know it's an expensive treat but you must try it. You'll not regret it!

Fabulous, superb! Just booking again!

Stephanie O, Gwynedd, stayed: October 2018

Perfect location, fabulous, attentive staff, gorgeous room and reception areas, the food in the Simon Radley is simply divine - the best we ve ever tasted.
We stayed for three days to have a girly shopping trip to Chester. The location was superb, we could walk to the bars after dinner in a matter of minutes. The shops were fabulous, we had beauty treatments at Zen beauty and the beautician, Steph, was amazing. Then champagne and canap s in The Arkle Bar and Lounge before dining in the Simon Radley restaurant.
The whole stay was simply perfect, I m just checking my diary now to see when we can go again. I wouldn t stay anyway else in Chester now after this amazing experience. Thank you!
