Breakfast was excellent. Evening meal poor and expensive
The hotel room was absolutely amazing warm and comfortable with everything you need from a home to home experience. Breakfast was wonderful, juice, fruit, cereal and a full English if required. Pleasant and comfortable bar area. Staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly.
Evening meal was very disappointing, very overpriced. Bland, boring and dry. We would definitely stay again but eat out at the Red Lion, where the food is the price and more substantial tasty. Fish and 8 chips for 25 is ridiculous steak was 40. Medium rare was actually medium dry, 6 chips and 4 lettuce leaves.
Lovely location
The Location of the Hotel was perfect with wonderful views, the staff were friendly efficient and helpful. The room was excellent and the bathroom was the same, the bed was comfortable and it was very quit. The bar was comfortable and the breakfast was very good, the dinner menu was a bit limited though and not as good as anticipated.
One of our best hotel stays.
We were made to feel very welcome.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were particularly helpful with suggestions of places of interest to visit as we had some walking restrictions.
The restaurant menu was a little restrictive but what was served was very good.
Wonderful views from the hotel.
Overall a very enjoyable stay and highly recommended. We would definitely return.
Recommended suggestions
The hotel is in a beautiful location.
The decor is glamorous.
Our room was well organised and beautifully adorned.
Sadly the Appletreewick room had a view of the carpark and garage roof.
We were disappointed that the gentleman who welcomed us to the hotel saw my partner, who is 80, struggle up the stairs with the luggage! No offer of help?
The evening menu wasn't altered for the second night. That would have have been rather good. However with a limited vegetarian menu there was no choice.
The breakfast was excellent, as was the view in the resyaurant.
A relaxing break.
From the moment we arrived we were treated as special guest. Uttie, on reception, was welcoming and informed us we were being given a room upgrade. The room, Skyreholme, was large and airy with all amenities provided, plus a gun cabinet if needed. We settled in and then went down for a free drink, a glass of Prosecco and a local beer, and a wander around. The position was lovely, overlooking the village of Burnsall and the imposing bridge, and the gardens were nicely kept. Dinner that evening was delicious and well presented. The restaurant staff were friendly and couldn t do enough in the dining room that overlooked the valley. Slept very well, but awoke later than normal but not too late to enjoy a hearty Yorkshire breakfast. Again the staff were attentive and friendly as later as we got ready to leave Caroline on reception wished us well and a safe journey.
A wob
We had a wonderful relaxing Time at the Devonshire Fell Hotel, Location is beautiful and the views are wonderful. It was so lovely eating our meal overlooking the countryside, we would have stayed an extra Night, but commitments didn t allow. We have to make a special commendation as Oti went
truly out of his way to look after us and nothing was too much trouble for him. He seems to be a man of all trades doing all jobs. We just couldn t believe it when we were having our afternoon and he
appeared outside the window, watering the plants, what a fantastic deputy manager he is.
he appeared outside the window watering the plants, what a wonderful manager
