The Bar

Overlooking Chipping Campden Square, is the perfect contrast to the dining room with a more relaxed atmosphere to complement the Brasserie style menu. Atmospheric lighting and a roaring log burner in winter combine to create a warm and welcoming environment.

The menu is created with prime ingredients in mind, using produce sourced as locally as possible with the seasons playing a big part in our menu planning. The bar at King is the perfect place to meet in Campden whether it's for a relaxed drink, light lunch or an informal evening meal.

Stocking local ales from Hook Norton Brewery which are a perfect match especially with the hand-cut Cotswold steaks.

The location of the hotel was good and we had a room at front of building and was quiet. Bed was very comfortable but en-suite bathroom door didn't close completely. The food was excellent and as our stay was part of a deal was good value for money just took a while to arrive on Saturday evening but worth waiting for. Flavours were exquisite.

Don't Stay for the Customer Service!

Fiona, Southampton, stayed: November 2018

I booked an overnight stay for me and my partner as a romantic birthday treat. The location and warm welcome we received were the perfect start. Our room was spacious and offered all the amenities we needed. Sadly we were located at the top of the stairs and did have a lot of noise late at night from passing guests but that's to be expected when staying away in a small hotel. Sadly, the service in Jack the Rabbit restaurant wasn't very good. This is because there was only 1 person waiting tables with another racing around in the background avoiding all eye contact. The lady who did serve us was friendly but clearly required help! The breakfast service was even worse. We queued behind another couple and were left waiting 15 minutes without any acknowledgement. We then asked if we could have breakfast in the bar area and told that would be fine. We had to ask for glasses so we could get juice from the buffet and were then forgotten about for another 15 minutes. We finally found a person to ask for the cooked breakfast menu. The toast arrived without butter (we had to ask for it) and the tea and coffee arrived without milk and sugar (we asked again!). There was no apology for the slow or poor service staff looked very disgruntled. The breakfast, when it finally arrived 50 minutes after we'd come to breakfast was delicious. It really did spoil our visit and I wouldn't recommend friends or family to stay definitely choose another hotel in Chipping Campden as it was a beautiful place to visit.

Amazing restaurant

Sarah, Worcestershire, stayed: October 2018

I stayed here with my sister for a relaxing getaway. The room was lovely apart from the very hot towel rail which was turned off by ourselves later. The staff were friendly. The booking lady Victoria was excellent! The restaurant ambience and food was amazing! My sister and I are foodies and were very happy with everything. A very talented chef! It was a shame the fire alarm went off at 12.30 am and the fireman turned up at 1pm. Quite disruptive. But all great sort from that.

Pretty Village

TM, Lincolnshire, stayed: August 2018

Picture postcard village . Stayed mid August for 3 nights.
Booked this Hotel via the internet and a package that included prosseca or drinks per person to the value of 11 ,pounds dinner for 2 and tickets for local gardens . We had the dinner on the first night , but the other bits of the package did not materialise ? The room and bathroom was lovely .the room was on the front with views of the main road. A bit noisy as a lively village/ Town at night . They have some rooms at the back of the Hotel which I suspect will not be so nosey? But no doubt more expensive? a? Plenty of bars/ restaurants' in Chipping Campden and the Cotswolds are lovely in the sunshine. Staff very friendly and helpful and good selection of drinks / wine in the bar. Food in the Restaurant was Ok with breakfast very good. Although in my view expensive , but would stay again. but book direct with the Hotel and cut on the package.. Bits which did not materialise? TIP. be very careful getting in and out of the shower.. it is fairly high!!

Stay at the KINGS Hotel

NA, Hampshire, stayed: July 2018

My wife and I had a couple of friends from Melbourne with us. They were delighted with Chipping Campden as we were. John apart from being a respiratory consultant is a very keen photographer.  They were just blown away by the place. Very English and a delightful hotel with staff who were 100% in terms of effort. We ate at the hotel and all I can say is the food was superb.
