short break in Cotswolds

GP, Essex, stayed: March 2020

A most pleasant stay. Staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. From a personal point of view rooms were a little dark. Would certainly return again.

An enjoyable and relaxing break

John H, Bedfordshire, stayed: February 2020

This is an old Coaching Inn with lots of small lounges and relaxing places. The new rooms look very comfortable. We had a nice room on the first floor of the old building, very nicely fitted out and decorated and comfortable. It would have been really nice if there had been a curtain to pull separating the bedroom area and the sitting area with the TV in the sitting area, it would have made it seem just a little more private in the two areas. The only negative was the floor in the Bed area squeaked extensively when you walked around and particularly to the bathroom. The dining room was very nice and we had good food. A big bonus were the staff in all areas who were friendly and helpful. The car park is behind the hotel and very spacious, we did however have the car parked for us and brought to the front when we needed it. This was a real bonus when it was raining. Our stay was a great treat for my wife an I.

Popa short

Popa short, stayed: February 2020

This hotel is excellent if you wish to explore the area, if you are fit! Follow the signs for the Tower the view is well worth the slog and there is a coffee shop too!
The rooms are super however, who ever advised on the dark paint used deserved to be made to stay there for ever! Dark and dismal rules!
The spa is great and if you were to take your children or grandchildren for a treat, the pool has special times for kids!
The restaurant menu is however limited for such a special hotel, it is presented on a plastic menu card with only a small special selection available.
This is not a 5 star restaurant the food is adequate but service is slow. The restaurant staff are good, helpful and nice, but there was no sign of a manager! And this led to disorganised service, a good hotel deserves a good on duty manager overseeing things and sorting out problems!

Please go to visit and see for yourselves, but do not expect an extensive restaurant menu and brace yourself for the dark gloomy bedrooms!

Valentines treat

Samantha, Warwickshire, stayed: February 2020

My husband and I stayed her for valentines night. Check in very slick and welcoming. Room was lovely, in line with our expectations. Cocktail bar beautiful however mixologist wasn t great, young man serving us didn t know how to make a French martini, although he attempted it, the outcome was poor. Dinner was nice however toilets from main restaurant was an interesting experience. As they are attached to the kitchen all you could hear was the waiting staff being extremely rude about a client in the restaurant. Very rude and embarrassing to listen to.
