A wonderful place to stay.

Debbie H, Lancashire, stayed: June 2025

This was our third stay at The Old Swan. My friend and I are fascinated with Agatha Christie, so it feels very special staying here.
We get a great deal, dinner, bed and breakfast and are able to shop till we drop in Harrogate.
Parking is 12 for 24 hours, so very useful and not too expensive. We have previously been for a murder mystery, but this time watched some ballroom dancing - all greatly entertaining. We will definitely return.

3 night stay

Julie, Cheshire, stayed: June 2025

I booked for a 3 night stay. Executive double room.

On arrival at the hotel we were given a key for or room. We went to our allicated room ane the room was unfortunately occupied by another guest so we quickly apologised and returned to reception. The Receptionist allocated us another room.

Although our offer included sparkling wine I had to ask for it and it was quickly brought to room.

The staff were efficient, we found Anita one of the breakfast waiters to be very warm and friebdly.

The room service was very good and again our lady was more than helpful and made us feel welcome likewise the bar tenders.

Arrived at the hotel one hour ahead of normal check in time but could leave our car, have a walk around and return later. The check in was completed & we went to our room (with our dog). The room was spacious enough to erect our dog's crate which was great. Room and bathroom were both clean but I recommend new pillows and an update for the bathroom.
For dinner the first evening, we had to sit in the bar, with our dog which was not a problem even though we felt a little 'odd' being looked at by the drinkers! We selected the steaks & were prepared to pay extra - the food arrived and all looked beautifully cooked. We were only able to eat half of the steaks as the other part was just gristle and fat & we advised the waiter of this. Breakfasts were good but we had to collect food from restaurant and take to the bar, separately because of our dog. On checking out, we were pleased to see that the steak supplements had been removed. Overall hotel is in a great location, within lovely gardens.

Enjoyable stay ( with one 'hiccup'!)

Anon, stayed: June 2025

Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and good food and service in the restaurant. The only thing missing was the promised bottle of chilled sparkling wine which did not appear despite several requests. We mentioned this again when checking out and a bottle was suddenly produced ! Sadly, we couldn't ft it in our luggage but were happy to donate it to a helpful member of staff.

A great second visit

ML, stayed: June 2025

We were looking forward to our stay at the Old Swan Hotel as we have stayed here before, and it did not disappoint. All the staff were friendly and helpful. All our requests were met quickly. The evening meal was delicious. The breakfast selection was wide and plentiful. The location could not be better. We booked via an offer in a newspaper which included a bottle of Prosecco - which was very welcome!

A grand hotel

Lovely historic place. A grand setting for a relaxing break. The staff are very helpful. Food is good, rooms are enormous . Odd thing where VAT is charged separately but it s clearly marked on bar receipts. Excellent location.
