History of the hotel
The hotel has a resident ghost, "The Grey Lady". She has been seen a number of times over the years. The last occasion was by the young daughter of a family who were visiting the hotel to enquire about holding their wedding here. It is reputed that "The Grey Lady" only appears when people are happy!
Today the hotel is owned by the Thompson Family and renowned locally for fine food and hospitality.
Child Policy
Grand Club rooms have 2 double beds. Children are charged £35 for bed and breakfast, per child, per night.
Children under the age of 12 are not able to dine in The Lawns Grill from 6pm. There are other dining options available.
No children under the age of 6 years old are allowed anywhere in the spa facilities.
Children between the age of 6 and 13 may use the swimming pool only, and must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult also in the swimming pool.
Children's use of the swimming pool is restricted to:
- 10am - 12pm
- 2pm - 4.45pm
Minimum age for spa treatments and use of the gym is 16 years old.
Dogs Policy
No dogs are allowed at Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa, with the exception of guide dogs
