3 night package deal
The room was via long corridors, stairs and an open courtyard - a long way away from the restaurant.
Dinner menu limited to 7 main courses, one vegan and one at 49 each so choice of only 5 and did not change apparently for several weeks! The meal allowance in the package we purchased was 50 a head, by the time service was added at 12.5% it only covered a main course and a coffee! We consider this a misrepresentation of what to expect.
The spa was poor, saunas were a 2 person cupboard in each changing room and the jacuzzi was only pool temperature and only partly functioning. The pool was OK.
Public rooms very comfortable
A short break
A very pleasant country house hotel set in beautiful, well-maintained grounds. Superb service by staff who work hard to please. A good place to relax, take walks and appreciate the charms of English a country house garden. Further attention to the choice and refinement available on the dining menu would increase the already pleasant experience.
Romantic stay
Lovely stay. Loved the outdoor pool and the peace
Romantic weekend
Finally got to get my birthday present from 2 years ago . On arrival room wasn t ready but hotel staff took our bags and kept them safe. We went and had a drink in the garden which was lovely and relaxing. After we went off to the pool, was a little disappointed as pool quite small and had a family in it playing so felt that we couldn t really have a swim. Outside pool we couldn t find until after our swim. We like to have a sauna together so we can relax and chat but unfortunately there was a his and hers which is a little old fashion in this day and age. I would say that that was the only fault that we could note. The room was wow ! So big spacious with an enormous bed . Chocolates, champagne and a single rose made my day. Food was delicious staff very attentive can not fault . Would definitely love to come again.
Overnight Birthday treat
Lovely food and hotel but the spa is very disappointing and needs refurbishing
Amazing service
Don't think I ever remember receiving customer service of this such a high standard in the UK. Every query and request was dealt with kindly, courteously and with staff going out of their way to be accommodating - especially with finding us a slot for dinner at the restaurant despite being fully book, and then even serving the most delicious halal lamb chops that weren't even on the menu. Rooms were nice, facilities are good, grounds are lovely, would certainly recommend staying at Tylney Hall.
Lovely Place
Lovely hotel, we stayed for our honeymoon and the staff could not be more helpful. Location and grounds are so pretty. However we did think the decor was looking a little tired, paint work, and indoor swimming pool need lots of attention as shower was not working.
Lovely place let down by poor service.
Really lovely surroundings and good facilities - tennis, croquet, indoor and outdoor pools - and very friendly staff. However this was all let down by very poor service both on the terrace and in the restaurant. On the terrace when drinks were ordered it took typically over 20 minutes for the order to arrive sometimes after having gone to look for a member of staff to chase the order. The delays between courses in the restaurant were also too long. Other guests were also complaining about the service. Where was the management? We were a group of 10 (6 adults, 4 children) and stayed 3 nights. At the end of day 2 we asked for more choices on the menu as it was always the same. These were offered but we shouldn t have needed to ask - there should be some changes to the menu each day. We had three bedrooms. Ours was in the main building and called "de luxe" it was functional but needed a makeover. The other two family rooms were in other buildings. One was good, the other less so despite it being in the same grade.
