Spa Getaway

Tom, Essex, stayed: June 2025

Very helpful staff and very accommodating for first time visitors who booked a deal through another website. Not all of the spa facilities were available, but that was not a problem as it was during a very hot couple of days so the steam/sauna was not top of my priorities. The pool was in excellent condition and the perfect relaxation in the heat. The Thermal Spa was pleasant, however, I would have preferred that the relaxation area was cooler/a door separated it from the rest of the thermal spa. The food my wife and I had was always wonderful, even if others around us were not always happy (they may have been more regular and knew what to expect). Breakfast was very well supplied and everywhere was very clean and well stocked. The location was a bit further out than I had anticipated but it was a quiet location and for our purposes it worked very well. Great accessibility for my wife in a walking frame.

Pleasant break

K & JN Suffolk, stayed: April 2025

Stayed at Ufford Park with friends some of whom are golfers and they enjoyed the golf facilities. We were very comfortable in our rooms and the meal we had which was included in our package was very good as were the breakfasts. Those of us who used the spa and pool facilities were a bit disappointed, it could do with a little bit of tlc, a few cracked tiles here and there and a bit grubby in places. The position of the hotel is ideal, easy to find off the A12 and only minutes away from the lovely town of Woodbridge. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Package

Gurdev S, ESSEX, stayed: April 2025

We enjoyed our stay with few faults. The package bought was not delivered and we have to ask for it. The prosecco on arrival was not in the room. reception staff were excellent and promised it will be there but it did not arrived for three days. On third day reception staff took it on herself and when we returned from outing there was a bottle of champagne in the room. They did not ask for card details for extra charges but had problem to link our charges to room. Again restaurant staff was super to sort it out. We enjoyed our stay and staff was extremely helpful. We think there was some issue with communications. We will be happy to go back. Other suggestion is to change the restaurant menu during the week.

Lovely stay for a spa break weekend... had asked for a twin room and ended up with a kingsize, but having a course facing room wirh balcony more than made up for this...

Lovely food from the bar for lunch, and restaurant for dinner..... plus lovely breakfast.... coffee machine was VERY busy... could look at getting 2 of these... the queue was 8 deep at one count...

Didn't use the thermal suite but sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were nice and warm....

Not the luxury you would expect for the price

CS, Norfolk, stayed: February 2025

Was looking forward to a couple of days off in a nice hotel. Arrived less than an hour before check in and went to see if the room was read. No politeness just told no rooms are not ready till 3pm. But you can use the facilities. No offer to book me in so we could open the room to book drinks to it or anything. And didn t even direct to where facilities were. Finally checked in and got to our room which was sort of clean and spacious with a nice sized bed. But no finishing touches. Carpet was warm under the fridge. Fridge needed a clean and stains on the chairs. Table for dinner was booked and food was nothing extravagant but was nice staff were pleasant. Booked the bill to the room as had opened it on check in. As we were leaving we were stopped by the waitress to say we needed to pay as our room was not open. Very embarrassing as it looked like we were doing a runner. She then had to escort us to reception to sort it out. Where we weee just told sometimes it just happens. And offered a free bottle of wine. But it had already ruined a nice evening. Breakfast was buffet which I have no problem with but there was 1 coffee machine for more than 20 tables and the queue was 10 deep at one point hot water urn was on top of a high bar table where the coffee as also so was an accident waiting to happen. On check out other people were complaining that the spa weekend they had booked was not as expected as some things including the hot tubs were out of order. And was promptly told it was due to admin taking time to raise po s to get it fixed. They had also been charged for their free treatments which then had to be refunded. The overall courtesy of the recipient staff was not very welcoming. Having to walk past all the ground floor rooms to get to the restaurant and bar was also a bit odd. Not worth the money they charge for the stay.

Great place to relax, lovely staff but communications could be better

JD, Kent, stayed: January 2025

We booked 2 rooms for a one night package as a January get away as 2 couples, and in general we had a lovely relaxing break. The spa facilities are great, as a newer addition to the rest of the hotel, which is a little dated but still very comfortable. I tried to book spa treatments a few weeks before our stay, as I knew they would probably be fully booked by the time we arrived. After 3 failed attempts (2 non-returned phone calls and 1 unanswered email), I finally managed to book and pay for 2 treatments with the central booking team on the 4th contact. On our arrival, only one of the treatments was in the booking system, but the lovely spa manager resolved the issue by offering to do the 2nd treatment herself. Our package also included a bottle of prosecco on arrival, and robes in the rooms, neither of which were there when we checked in. After speaking to the helpful reception staff, one prosecco arrived at 6pm, the other we found in our room at 10pm after dinner, which was a little late for us. The bar and restaurant staff were a bit stretched, and we waited a while for drinks to arrive at the table, but all of the staff were friendly, helpful and kind. So in summary I would say that the booking and communications systems could do with some improvement, but the staff make a big effort to correct the errors and misses.
