Excellent hotel but breakfast coffee lets it down!

Marilyn M, Gwent, stayed: December 2018

We regularly stay at this hotel, and are generally very pleased with everything. However, on this ocassion I sas a bit disappointed that the menu was exactly the same as when I spent 4 days there in October! I have to say, though, that the food quality is excellent! The one very disappointing thing is the quality of coffee served at breakfast! It is extremely strong and tastes burned! The last few times I have stayed I have ordered tea because of this , but this time I forgot!

Enjoyable pre Christmas break

RD, Somerset, stayed: December 2018

We took advantage of the pre Christmas offer , with champagne and chocs in the room. As it was about to be my 60th birthday we were very kindly upgraded to the Wyke Suite, which was lovely. The restaurant was really good , we enjoyed the evening meals very much, and the full English breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is well located for exploring the Cotswolds. All in all, a great, relaxing break, thank you.

a very pleasant break

John, Norfolk, stayed: December 2018

Wyck Hill House Hotel is a favourite of ours for a stay in the Cotswolds. It is well located for touring round and for Stratford. The staff are very good and the rooms large and comfortable. DBB is ideal for a 3 or 4 night stay as the evening menu does not change very often though there is a daily special. I think Off Peak Luxury is the best way to book it as the rates are competitive and champagne and chocolates are included.

Enjoyable stay

Richard, stayed: December 2018

Food etc was good, but no more or less than you would expect from a four star hotel. Menu a little limited.
What did stand out however, in terms of attentiveness, courtesy and friendliness was the level of service from all staff, which was more in line with Five star than four. Absolutely first class.
The only other comment I would make is about the room which was pleasant enough and perfectly adequate for our short break but it definitely was not a garden room as advertised on your website. We were in what was virtually a loft room with one Velux type window. so there definitely was no garden view! Also given the size of the bathroom(very large!) the shower by comparison was small and cramped and definitely under-powered. However generally a pleasant stay. definitely lifted by the level of service

CY, Gloucestershire, stayed: November 2018

The hotel is tired . It needs major investment.
Food and staff were good. We asked for a walk-in shower and were told that we had to have an outside room 30 to 40 yards away. In fact it was over 100 yards away and the walk in the wind and rain was unpleasant. The room itself is way past it s sell by date. The carpet is filthy and the decor shabby. The shower head was damaged and the general cleanliness was poor.
