A trip to the Falcondale that never lets you down

Beautiful place - could do better

Anna, HEREFORDSHIRE, stayed: November 2018

The grounds were fantastic (and yet there was very little encouragement for us to use them, in spite of asking for ideas for a walk). The house is beautiful and could feel like luxury with a bit more attention to detail. The young staff were friendly and willing but maybe lacking in training. It felt like a wedding hotel rather than a welcoming place (staff distracted by upcoming wedding, driven by process rather than customer service). Reception unstaffed most of the time and staff unapologetic on return. No wifi for duration of stay (despite young manager's efforts to connect us).
Supper great. Afternoon tea disappointing - certainly didn't taste homemade or particularly fresh.

3 night stay

LF, Wiltshire, stayed: October 2018

We had a stay last week, with our 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and we found the hotel very comfortable.
Breakfasts and evening meals were really nice, and we took advantage of afternoon tea when we arrived - which was lovely
Everybody was really friendly and helpful

A tired hotel

Anon, stayed: September 2018

The hotel was tired and in need of updating. The bathroom was very small. However, our evening meal was excellent.

Nice room with a doggy welcome pack

Aimee P, West Midlands, stayed: August 2018

The room was very nice & we received a doggy welcome pack consisting of some food & there were bowls in the room for him to use. The only drawbacks were that some men's underpants had been left behind the bathroom door, which a staff member took away promptly, & the bed was a bit too hard for both of us. I had to take the pillows off the sofa to lie on in the bed & my husband just had to suffer. The grounds were lovely to walk the dog around & the staff accommodated us so that we could have the dog with us for afternoon tea, which was very pleasant. The staff were very helpful & friendly. The breakfast was very slow on the morning we checked out, not sure if they needed a few more staff, but overall it was a nice enough stay, just a few little things, that could easily be fixed, let it down slightly.
