The hotel was an amazing find and our garden bedroom had the wow factor, wonderful, loved the tea tray - china teapot and cups and saucers and REAL milk. Evening dinner was absolutely delicious, great choices.
Peacocks, chickens, ducks, beautiful garden, all made it a really memorable stay and we will be back.
3 Night stay in Bay room
The hotel is clean well furnished and comfortable. The dinner event on the evening of St Valentine's day was excellent. The only disappointments for us was the spiral staircase to the bathroom in our room and the fact that the best fan out on our second day.
A good short stay at Farthings Hotel
The Farthings Hotel has a very attractive and comfortable ground floor bedroom, the door of which opens out onto the Hotel's front garden. This was ideal for my wife who currently has a knee arthritis problem and who would not have been able to cope with staircases.
We much enjoyed our stay, with lovely meals and very nice and helpful staff. All in all, a very good and nice experience.
Small hotel/restaurant. If you like something different this is the place it is not a corporate spa restaurant hotel with swimming pool etc. This is an independent quaint hotel, so quiet, the gardens are lovely with free roaming chickens and peacocks a couple of hotel dogs ducks are also in the grounds. The weather was brilliant while we stayed here so sitting in the garden was lovely. The staff work very hard and are just lovely, Ben did a great job. The evening meal menu was very nice my wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal, The rooms are unbelievable we stayed in "Bay^ a large downstairs area on the first floor with seating and dressing table wardrobes and large bed. There is a spiral staircase from this room to the bathroom which is again is very large with a separate bath and shower. There is knack to getting the shower working tho, but was told this was going to be sorted out soon. The room overlooks the main entrance to the hotel which overlooks the gardens and a large green area opposite. Breakfast was again fantastic, wish we had stayed for a couple of nights instead of the one. There are lovely walks that could be taken from this hotel, We will definitely be coming back when we need a quiet relaxing break
Good food but accommodation disappointing
Not the best hotel we have booked through OPL. The room was bright but needed refurbishing. The carpet on the stairs was old and covered in dog hairs. Despite their website saying all rooms were supplied with tea/coffee, water and biscuits, we never saw a biscuit first nor last.
Food very good, but overall more like staying in a relatives guest room than a 'luxury ' hotel.
Very Welcoming to us and the dog
Little to fault. More choice in room of teas and coffees would have been appreciated but provided on request. As out of season and not many staying in hotel we did think that we were, to some extent, rushed through our dinner on both nights. Hotel not aware of the packages on offer so no champagne or flowers in room. Appropriate adjustment made to the bill .
