The Waterside

Waterside Bar & Restaurant - The hotel offers a canalside restaurant, open to visitors as well as hotel guests. Chefs use fresh local produce, often sourced from local vegetable and herb gardens as well as meat derived locally. We offer an eclectic range of modern British and European cuisine, from light lunches to three course dinner. Diners can eat on the terrace in fine weather, benefiting from views over the canal moorings, as well as enjoying regular barbecues during the spring and summer. We offer our visitors a flexible dining experience, from romantic tables for two in the restaurant, to an informal menu via room service.

The bar offers an extensive wine list and is a place to relax in style and comfort, close to the roaring fire on cold nights, while large doors leading to the terrace provide an airy setting on summer evenings.

Review of our stay

Anon, stayed: June 2019

Although the rooms have been refurbished they are smaller than was expected. The bathroom was very small also but it was adequate for a 3 night stay. We did have a couple of problems with the service but the staff rectified this for us without any problems. Unfortunately we did not have time to use the spa facilities. The room did overlook the canal and this was very nice

Overnight Stay

DP, Lancs, stayed: May 2019

I booked a night away with my partner and on the offer there was a bottle of Champagne with muffins ( to a value of 40) I asked if we could swap the Champagne to a bottle of pink gin which offpeak checked and the hotel agreed to this.. we didn't however get a bottle of pink gin we got 2 glasses! and told the gin cost more than Champagne!!

Food was fantastic as was the service that evening, breakfast was self serve but wasn't the best scrambled eggs over cooked and bland, hash browns just mushed together because of what they were served in.

Rooms were nice, overlooking the canal. Only gripe was the mirror, there is a small one on the desk for makeup but for doing hair it was near the bathroom so had to drag the chair over.

All in all it was a good day / evening. Probably wouldn't go there again but would recommend to others.

Fantastic Weekend

FB, Worcestershire, stayed: May 2019

We went to Lion's Quay with friends as part of the celebrations for my 60th birthday. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The spa area was one of the best that we had been to. We will most certainly be planning a return visit.
