Wonderful. Exceptional food
This hotel is wonderful . Set in the heart of Fowey with its numerous shops & cafes
Beautiful location overlooking the harbour , helpful friendly staff .
Lovely rooms with fluffy gowns provided .
Well worth paying that little bit more to have a over looking the harbour .
The food is exceptional!
We will definitely be returning
Disappointing
Cannot fault the location, however that was the only good thing about the hotel. Overpriced at 640 for two nights accommodation. Disinterested staff. Room temperature at night 27 degrees with no air conditioning it really was most unpleasant. It claims to be a boutique hotel but fails massively. Room facing the street was cluttered with furniture, wardrobe was not even full length to hang a dress. Beware of service charge in restaurant, I was charged for the waitress to bring my drink at dinner less than 10 meters from the bar! Would I recommend? Absolutely not. If you want to stay in Fowey do not stay here.
Birthday Break
We celebrated my wife's 70th birthday with a weekend break in Fowey. The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly and welcoming and helped make the stay something special. the restaurant food was excellent.
A couple of points worth a mention.
1) Our room was quite cramped for a double room, with the bed filling most of it hence the OK rating. We would not describe it as good or excellent.
2) There is no on site car parking, The hotel has a concession to use a public car park approximately 10 minutes walk away at a cost of 6.30 per day. There is no other alternative as all other long stay parking facilities in the town charge similar rates. Loading and unloading luggage is done at the hotel entrance then you have to park and walk.
Our room, room 6, was one of the more expensive but definitely worth paying for, being a good size with spectacular views. The restaurant also looks out over the water which makes for a pleasant dining experience. The dinner menu is quite limited and did not change during our three night stay which was disappointing particularly as it is 45 per head for three courses with some optional extras. The food itself was good without being exceptional. The breakfast choices were excellent. My only other quibble would regarding the cost of drinks. Wine, if I remember rightly started at 29 a bottle and a single gin and tonic will set you back a minimum of 10.50. All in all though, if we return to Fowey, I would not wish to stay anywhere else. The location is just the best.
Great hotel and wonderful food
Lack of dedicated parking spaces for residents gives pause for thought
We really enjoyed our stay, and we hope to return
